Good mooring all........'tis biblical here, has been all night and forecast is 90% rain till Sunday 3.00pm when it drops to 50%!!!!! I have been ferociously busy this week so apologies for being AWOL. Hope you're all well and I've missed nothing important like which colour bins went out on which day?

We had a most excellent ride yesterday, managing to dodge the rain except for a 20 minute deluge. Important decisions were taken. Cafes! Yesterday myself and buddy paid £4 EACH for a chocolate chip cookie and a Rocky Road. On Monday I was charged £1 for an extra slice of toast with my beans. Since the pandemic we have understood and accepted the increases but have decided A) we cannot afford this any longer, it's hitting +/-£25 a week and B) the cafes are frankly taking the piss. We are largely withdrawing our custom. Mondays will be either a coffee only in a cafe and eat snack from home or coffee and cake from a bakery, Wednesday or Friday will be a cafe with the other day being the same as Monday. We don't like it but this is a problem across much hospitality.

It's our club open TT10 today and our club championship, I help organise along with another guy. Calls and messages have been pouring in asking if we're going ahead? I'm setting off early to do the course inspection. If it goes ahead I have two hours in the rain putting up signage, 70 minutes stood in the rain as Finish Timekeeper Assistant and an hour taking the signs down again!!!! Geez, don't you love cycling????????????????????

Morning

Chucking it down round here - looks set for the whole day

Naff all needing doing that isn;t outside - unless SWMBO authorises the use of gloss paint - in which case I might put the finishing touches to the bathroom, en-suit and downstairs loo
(not really sure how many toilets a house REALLY needs to have???)

Anyway - did manage to get a ride in yesterday late on - only 11 miles - plus a couple of shopping type trips - but looks like today is out

What would the relationship be between me and another person, where the last common ancestor was my grandparents grandparents, but the same people were theother persons grandparents great grandparents?

Second cousin once removed, twice removed. Third cousin...

I will watch Deliverance again and get back to you. ^_^

Similar to us here withdrawing our custom from pubs who also are taking the proverbial these days.

Raining all day here (again).

Mission Impossible last night at the flicks was very good! Good storyline, good stunts, good soundtrack and neat ending that didn't leave us feeling short-changed but still provided a nice link into part 2 this time next year.

Reading completed, doing some music curating at the mo', then cooking cheesy-topped chilli for tonight and then...

... a bit of Netflix 'movieing' not decided on what yet, then some great hot tracks and some sort of active game and then some grown-up fun.

Will get to sleep about 5am I guess.

This weeks hot track is History of Man by Maisie Peters. Very lovely song with very clever lyrics:

If you have ever been really in love and have been wounded it will surely resonate.
