BIIIIG decision made.
My health seems determined not to improve and I am ,more or less, living in the flat.
Decision is for daughter, SiL and granddaughter to sell their house and move into my main house.
I's to dot and T's to cross nut it is, to use the phrase, doable.

Big decision!

If that works for you then I wish you all the best.

Off-beat research topic, what's the story there if you don't mind me asking?

Not at all, Mrs TKK worked in healthcare for most of her working life. She started as a healthcare assistant and then became a nurse. Did a B.Sc and worked in Palliative Care until retirement. She's always loved history, moreso social history. She must have got bored so signed up to do a Masters.
Her family were from the Gateshead area and so when she had to choose a subject for her dissertation the chose the Cholera outbreaks in the Pipegate area ( it might have been the 1750's not 1850's )

I don't mind house work  OK my flat is not large being only one bedroom, but I like it when it's all clean and tidy.

Our house is clean & tidy - we just don't like cleaning & tidying. ^_^

Took us ages to find a cleaner some time ago (living in the sticks) and she was very good but then her husband died and she moved back to Scotland.

We used to have a gardener but he disappeared way back too.

Hard to find people who want to do this sort of thing where we live.

I like gardening, can be very enjoyable, the rest of it is just stuff we need to do sometimes.

I can see how it can be enjoyable for some.

My mum and M-I-L were both keen gardeners and got heaps of pleasure out of it.

Not passed on in the genes I guess - although Mrs SD does like her 'pots' in the spring/summer.

Take or leave them ?

I have never had a dog (or a cat).

My daughter has 3 dogs and a cat. None of them have ever set foot in our house.
If/when this house becomes the daughters then I will have to adjust to the animals.
It will be interesting to say the least 🙂

Pro dog, love 'em.

Ours died and we can't do the end of life thing again, so we no longer have one.

They do stink and make a house smell.

Also, anyone who lets one sleep on their bed is beyond disgusting imo.

You may love it. I find a house without a pet almost unbearable.

Beans on toast for lunch. It’s still quite cool here as the sun hasn’t made it through.

Dogs :okay:
They possess unconditional love. "They forgive instantly. Theyre empathetic and sympathetic. Theyre incapable of guile or dishonesty. Theyre always in the moment, not carrying the past or fretting about the future. Everything's always new and wonderful. Every place is always the best place to be." ^_^ *a quote from the author Jed Mckenna

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
I loved my dog and cat, but after they both died over 30 years ago, I've never had another pet. Now I don't want the dog hair, the slobbering all over me and the floor, the smell and even if you can't smell them, anyone entering your home can. Then there are the outrageous vet fees, and the cost of food, taking them for a walk, cleaning up the poop. The list goes on. I can visit my daughter, see her 2 dogs, then leave....
