Someone told me that the Ted-X channel on YT had some interesting content.

Watched two and not impressed.

First was the four stages of retirement, topical and I gave it a go. It was very low-brow and felt like a simplistic theory that had been forcibly retro-fitted onto the users experiences.

Second was the transactional nature of sex leading to sexless marriages. Interesting as we know of several. This started ok but didn't go deep enough and felt very lightweight.

Can't say I would recommend this channel.

Are any other retirees YT consumers? What do you tend to watch in the years as you approach your dotage?

Main content here, all things cycling, climbing especially Via Ferrata, car construction & test drives, music, travel, science esp' quantum mechanics and finance.

Just thought this would make a change from what we are eating!

I take it YT = YouTube? I watch GCN and Katie Kookaburra from time to time. Very occasionally look for an old film, the last one was Easy Rider, but the bulk of my YouTube watching is music from bands and performers I've loved for decades. In particular I see and appreciate things in their performances I didn't notice 40+ years ago.

Sounds a bit like living in the past or chasing Glory Days 😉 but it isn't. For me it's recapturing the joy the music gave me. I spoke before about Springsteen in Edinburgh. It was gutwrenching, tears in my eyes to hear the power and the emotion of his music.....that stays forever.

Next film I'm looking for is The Outlaw Josey Wales.

I have just watched the brand new Star Trek series that is starting on Paramount. I watched it on You Tube and to be honest, its like a PlayStation game. Far too much CGI, and the acting was so wooden and forced.

Its quite possibly the worst Star Trek that I have ever seen.

I'm glad I don't have Patamount TV.it was dire.

I watched just about the weirdest film I've seen for many a year.......and it was set in North Wales. Can you guess what it was?

welsh dragon

I can't argue with the notion of society recognising the contributions people make to society but I really can't get excited by the honours lists that the media make great play of.

Camilla gets top Scottish title is a joke too. Basically, rich girlfriend bangs heir to throne throughout their respective previous marriages and gets a 'reward' as that's how things work in the Ruritanian world of royalty and the 'upper classes'.

I best stop there.

I agree but that's how it's always worked.
Royalty gives titles to friends and family, whereas the rest of can't even

Still better than Johnson's list of cronies

My Youtube tends to concentrate on cycling, guitar reviews and music lessons, and people hurting themselves doing stupid things.

The first two are generally rducational, the third is just because I like idiots to get their comeuppance
