As a youth I went to buy some trousers Tried a pair on told the sales person (Notice the political correctness)the trouser’s we’re rather tight.Brought me another pair to try he said they have more ballroom than Blackpool Tower 💃🕺💃🕺

Sounds like the second pair would suite me, ever since I started doing serious cycling I've had problems getting trousers that fit, right waist size and I can't get my arse and thighs in them, buy a pair with arse and thigh room and they are to big in the waist and often to long in the leg.

Just conversation this ie not moaning.
Since I got long covid I have lost 3 1/2 stone. My trousers/shorts are just falling off me.
I am really trying to eat more and do some light exercises.....I think its working 🙂

No. My weight at 11 stone was fine. Hospital just put it down to covid. I am fighting back.

Do you remember back in the day when denim jeans were a little to big or not tight enough mates of mine would lay in the bath wearing their jeans to shrink them to size

Of course I would never do that I sent the ruler in the thin ruler pocket rusty Plus I didn’t want to get out of the bath with my tenor singing voice turned into a strangulated soprano

No sure shrinking cycling shorts would have the desired effect

I remember the shrinking jean thing as more of a girl thing. 😀
Mrs exlaser has mentioned in the past she used to do it in her teenage years , so that would have been in the late 70s / early 80s.

Never had to do that, Levi 501 fitted me perfectly.
One girlfriend I had briefly did that. She couldn't get them off in the back of my Ford Anglia. The relationship didn't last very long.😳

I believe it was in the 1950s most jeans were black and seemed to be aimed at the work wear market hence the the narrow ruler pocket on the leg .Just about long enough for 12 inch ruler.

Perseverance was the name of the game or you needed a bigger car

I passed my test in a Ford Anglia. Lovely car in its time.
