Why? Why? Why? Do we exist? Is there life on other planets? Is there a God?...................more importantly why am I awake at 4.15 and have been for two hours? Why?

Today is going to involve some allotment work, get kit ready for tomorrow's ride (I'm leading a club ride), check house insurance renewal and other admin and sleep at some point!

We have a late and long day ahead at Lytham Festival where we will see Germein (?), Kaiser Chiefs, Blondie and Sting who finishes at 11.00pm so I can't see us being home before 00.30.

Disappointed by the things we're not allowed to take into the Festival; food, drink, chairs, umbrellas. Apparently getting anywhere to eat in Lytham prior to the Festival is a nightmare so we're unsure what to do about food. First act is at 5.00pm and forecast is 80% chance of rain increasing to 90%. 🤣 I'll be finding all my walking waterproof gear later.

As to why you were awake at that time, you were dreaming you were awake, not actually awake!

When the house contained five females, the most common washing machine “maintenance” was removing bits of wire from the pump/filter. The bits of wire had come from under-wired bras.

Oh let me tell you of a story that will give you a shock
a story'bout a murder on St. John's Dock
the person in question was Biddy McGraw
and she strangled two sailors with the straps of her bra

CHORUS
Too rah hoo rah hah, fiddle dee da ra
too rah too rah too rah hah

Well they tried to get her drunk on her own corn liquor
but as quick as they were be Jaysus she was quicker
She remembered she was told by her ma and her da
to keep both hands on the straps of yer bra

so she wrapped those straps around the big sailor's head
and she threw him in the river like a crust of bread
then the small sailor laughed and he said "Haw Haw"
so she stuffed his gob with the rest of her bra
His face turned purple and before he fell...
she picked up her miniskirt and ran like hell

She went home that night 'bout a quarter to one
happy and contented with a job well done
she told her story to her ma and her da
they said,"Tanks be to God you were wearin' yer bra!"

Now all you ladies who go walking late at night
don't keep the straps of yer bra too tight
just remember the story of Biddy McGraw
and keep both yer hands on the straps of yer bra CHORUS

I'm sorry how can anybody not iron their clothes, to me if it's flat it needs ironing to get rid of all the creases, I iron everything, it takes very little time and looks and feels so much better.

Shirts yes , suit trousers sometime . Everything else definitely no . Sorry to be rude but only old people , like my mother did , iron everything . 😂😂😀😀

I don’t have enough years left to waste it ironing thing like pants, socks, towels, bed sheets/duvet etc .😂

Anyway , last holiday update . Everyone is still alive and still talking 😂. Atmosphere between , mrs exlaser and our daughter is a little ‘ frosty’ but that’s not unusual 😂.
I am still in everyone’s good books so all is well with world . 😀
Traveling back tomorrow, wish me luck with the M5.

Lytham Festival. Kaiser Chiefs were good but not really my cup of tea. Blondie, excellent. Debbie Harry is backed by a very strong, tight band who rolled out classic after classic tune for an hour. Sting. What can I say? A superb musician with a clearly hand-picked band of very talented musicians and backing singers. With a music catalogue which stretches back 45+ years he just can't go wrong. Two hours of classic hits, an outstanding performance which the crowd loved.

Never been to this festival before. It was brilliant. Lots and lots of fun.

Hello. Its very wet and windy. I have to go for a bike ride. The club is introducing a new ride today, at a medium pace to fit a gap between two existing rides.

This is my baby and while the rides doesn't have a leader, it's self-navigated, as the instigator I have to turn out. Very much doubt anyone else will.......I wouldn't🤣

:hello:

I have a lot of techy clothes too, but what about bedding, cotton shirts, undies, socks, handkerchiefs ect, don't tell me you don't iron them

Presumably that lot is tic?

Just in case it isn't...

Boxers, knickers, bras, socks - all conform to shape, plus who is really looking? If Mrs SD is wandering around in undies then lack of ironing is probably not on my mind.

Handkerchiefs - seriously, last had one when I was about 10. Foul things. If I had one I wouldn't iron it.

Cotton shirts - I possess none. I have two cotton T's that I bought in error yonks ago and they are gardening only clobber and certainly don't get ironed.

Bedding, come on, ours comes out of the tumbly (sic) dryer looking good to go. Plus it gets in a hell of a state in use...

In short, ironing is a waste of time and belongs to the era of hand washing and mangles.
