TdF - I thought it was going to be a boring stage but by christ this nonsense takes the biscuit.

Imo the tour needs a bit of a shake-up to get rid of the tedious chunks of it. Doesn't help when riders get the same time for getting over the line at different times.

I think the organisers thought there would be a breakaway, but the riders thought otherwise.
Probably the most boring stage I've seen in many a year.
I felt sorry for the commentators. Having to find more and more facts about the region, food, history and goodness knows what.
Tomorrow should be much more interesting.

Why, and how, can an insurance company offer protection against losing your night oats?

In order to keep active and be useful, I've joined our local Trust for Conservation Volunteers doing two days a week. The contrast from my last job before actually retiring couldn't be greater.
I walk to the minibus collection point; takes about 35 minutes each way, although I also have the choice of cycling or the bus, but I prefer to walk. Before I had to cycle or drive. I get driven to the work location. Being driven anywhere is a serious novelty for me. Several hours of useful physical activity helping the environment with little but the sounds of nature around ( apart from the occasional light aircraft or whirlybird passing overhead - ! )
This is the biggest difference as my last place had local radio being played VERY loud for twelve hours - !

I don't know what's in the water but it's terrible quality. Give me good, clean Lancashire, or Yorkshire, water every time. No wonder Thames Water is in the sh1t!

I bought two litres tonight, probably the same again tomorrow.

Claims to be Highland Spring water. Now I can't be sure what's in the average Highland spring but it has to be better than what's in the Thames.

Migraine about 75% improved, now centred on my right eye but relatively bearable.

Check the label, where says "place of origin". If that says Peckham then be worried.
