Afternoon all from a very damp Coventry.
Am sat on the sofa drinking coffee, watching the mountain biking and recovering from three days of sailing .
It all went well, both on and off the water , being mostly dry and having plenty of wind helped. Mrs exlaser is happy , finished 7th and is woman’s champ again .
And me ? I surprised myself and mrs exlaser by doing six and a half of the seven races ( I have a rep of getting cheesed off and coming in early 😂) and managed to finish with in the top 10.
Now I could try and big up finishing 10th in a national competition, BUT we did only have 13 entries. 😂😂😂😂
Below is a few pics from the event, mrs exlaser is in the green boat and I am in the pink one .

Just heard from daughter and granddaughter, saw them off on the 09:40 from Poole and she's sent me a photo from her hotel room in Paris. Willow told them that she was " nearly six " and they upgraded them to a plusher room with a balcony 😎
Thinking about it, it takes Mrs Tenkaykev and I longer to travel from Poole to Edinburgh 🤔

Lovely.
I like Paris.....we spent some happy times there.

It's not important to speak Welsh. In my experience the way you talk to people and interact with them is far more important. Treat the Welsh like idiots and look down your nose at them and you won't last long.

Be nice abd respectful and they will bend over backwards to help and advise you with anything they can.

I think treating the language with respect matter more than anything else
If 2 people are speaking Welsh then let them and leave it at that

I used to live near some areas where the locals spoke Welsh as their normal language - this is quite common away from the large towns - at least in North Wales - other areas the language is not so common

Nothing will annoy people as much as disrespecting their language
except possibly people from South Wales telling them they version of Welsh is wrong!!! (or even worse - people from Aberystwyth saying only their version is the proper version!!!!)

welsh dragon

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.

My neighbour down the road loves my grandchildren to stop by as he talks to them in Welsh. He tends to flag them down when they are driving past just so he can talk to them . They dread it as its really hard for them to get away from him

Totally agree . Have visited wales north and south a lot and always received a warm welcome with only one exception and that was near Aberystwyth .
Mrs exlaser best friend from school and her husband live in a small village near there . We when to stay with them for a long weekend . They are both church people and mrs exlaser went with them to a service and I was left to look after our daughter and their son , both aged about 4. So I decided i would take them for a walk , we went past the village shop and we went in to get some sweets . I said good morning to the lady behind the counter and was totally blanked. Then she recognised our friends little boy and suddenly could not do enough for us 😀.
Aberystwyth is funny place. .

I literally dozed off while eating my tea last night, so sleepy. My sleep pattern is all to hell, shot to bits. Went to bed at 8.30 and slept till 3.00, plenty of rest but at the wrong time. I will finish my brew and hope to doze for a couple of hours. #1 son and partner took possession of their first house last Thursday. They plan to move in in early September. Today's plan is to remove all the wallpaper. We have borrowed three wall paperstrippers/steamers, it's going to be like a sauna!!!!!

I won't go on about the footie other than to say the boys were fabulous. A great display, very entertaining and an excellent afternoon enjoyed by all, apart from 3000 or so from the Midlands.........and a couple of my cycling buddies. 🤣

:hello:

Morning folks :okay: Went for my usual morning walk and seaweed gathering yesterday and noticed an osprey doing its 'crucifix' hovering just off the beach where the river enters the sea. I parked myself on a bench and spent a pleasant 20 mins or so watching it at work, i hoped it would catch something as it was expending a lot of energy gliding then hovering. Eventually it dropped like a stone and went off with a small flounder yay! ^_^
Off for an early ride in a while before theres much traffic on the A9, over to Golspie and back over the hills that should blow the cobwebs as its quite fresh out there this morning. :okay:
