I am suprised that the Media histrionics haven't announced that the 'UK is drowning'.
Indeed. While it has been wet, its hardly been the biblical levels the promised and nary a breath of wind.

Afternoon all from a very damp Coventry.
Am sat on the sofa drinking coffee, watching the mountain biking and recovering from three days of sailing .
It all went well, both on and off the water , being mostly dry and having plenty of wind helped. Mrs exlaser is happy , finished 7th and is woman’s champ again .
And me ? I surprised myself and mrs exlaser by doing six and a half of the seven races ( I have a rep of getting cheesed off and coming in early 😂) and managed to finish with in the top 10.
Now I could try and big up finishing 10th in a national competition, BUT we did only have 13 entries. 😂😂😂😂
Below is a few pics from the event, mrs exlaser is in the green boat and I am in the pink one .

Just heard from daughter and granddaughter, saw them off on the 09:40 from Poole and she's sent me a photo from her hotel room in Paris. Willow told them that she was " nearly six " and they upgraded them to a plusher room with a balcony 😎
Thinking about it, it takes Mrs Tenkaykev and I longer to travel from Poole to Edinburgh 🤔
It's not important to speak Welsh. In my experience the way you talk to people and interact with them is far more important. Treat the Welsh like idiots and look down your nose at them and you won't last long.
Be nice abd respectful and they will bend over backwards to help and advise you with anything they can.
I think treating the language with respect matter more than anything else
If 2 people are speaking Welsh then let them and leave it at that
I used to live near some areas where the locals spoke Welsh as their normal language - this is quite common away from the large towns - at least in North Wales - other areas the language is not so common
Nothing will annoy people as much as disrespecting their language
except possibly people from South Wales telling them they version of Welsh is wrong!!! (or even worse - people from Aberystwyth saying only their version is the proper version!!!!)
The womens was good, the mens was brilliant, despite the weather and a British winnerI enjoyed the downhill mountain biking. It’s been wet here anyway.
