It was said that he was handsome? Well I suppose people's perception of people 300 years ago is slightly different than today

I can say hand on heart that ( some ) ladies find me handsome. Several years ago I motioned foor a ( very ) elderly lady to mount the bus ahead of me. She said, and I quote, " Woi thank you moi 'ansome "

Replying to myself, the photo bears a striking resemblance to a photo of one of my neices at a younger age. As @Mo1959 said, quite a feminine face.
I'm just about to place an order for one of those DNA testing kits, I may be Scottish and related to Royalty 🤔😉

Will we have to call you Your Majesty or will Sire do 🙂

You can see why he was called bonnie. Quite a feminine face for a man.

I think he needed to work on his foundation creme however, not that I am an expert on such matters.

Just googled them. Look like caramel wafers but without the chocolate.

I spotted them in Tesco and thought I'd give them a try. They're a Dutch thing and very popular there. Wikipedia says:

A stroopwafel's wafer layers are made from a stiff dough of flour, butter, brown sugar, yeast, milk, and eggs that has been pressed in a hot waffle iron until crisp.[a] While still warm, the waffles have their edges removed with a cookie cutter, which allows the remaining disc to be easily separated into top and bottom wafers. A caramel filling made from syrup, brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon—also warm—is spread between the wafers before the waffle is reassembled. The caramel sets as it cools, thereby binding the waffle halves together

They're quite thin but surprisingly dense.
