A very enjoyable trip to Dorchester yesterday. A brief rain shower dampened things down a bit but the beer choice was very good for such a small micro brewery. Excellent 12" Pizza (£13) and some good company.
Heading back to Poole we saw there had been torrential rain that we were fortunate to miss.
Talking to the owner of the Pizza stall ( one of those tow along ovens ), he mentioned that a typical day at Sandbanks beach would be 600 pizzas, 700+ when the Airshow is on. Going on a max of £3 for ingredients that's quite a day's takings ( though there are all the expenses of running a business)

TBH £13 for a pizza would really upset me.

Morning all :hello:

Weather's a bit iffy here at the moment, but forecast to pick up later by the time we walk down to the Bell for lunch.
It's a year, to the day, since we lost our old JR Dottie. Her ashes sit on MrsD's dresser in our bedroom and I give them a pat every time I go past.

Morning again. Enjoyed the men’s marathon. Sadly, this is the last day of the athletics. Next big thing will be next year’s Olympics in Paris which will be great for watching here as virtually no time difference.

Think the Great North Run might be next month?

We visited Newcastle several years ago, and by coincidence it was the week before the GNR. The shops were putting out their running gear for the sale and we had the pick of the sale rails. Spent a couple of hundred dut got some excellent bargains 😎

I managed to get some stuff done before the family arrived, I got my pharmaceutical hat on and got our tablet boxes filled up for the week, took a get well card to a neighbour who had a fall last week and took a card and a bunch of flowers to our friend across the road, shes 81 today.

I'm up and sort of awake
Grandson's birthday bash to day - he is 7
quite small do as he is a bit autistic and crowds might not be a good idea
anyway - we have to be there by 12 - no idea how lunch will work!

Anyway - just watched the Vuelta - not very sure that timing the team time trial to finish in the dark was a good idea
I know having rain and heavy cloud made it worse and is probably not normal at this time of year - but I do wonder if visibility would be reduced anyway??

Whatever - have to get SWMBO up soon - her sleep is terrible and we have been waiting for an appointment with a clinic for many months
may have to chase it up but we are off to Greece soon so it'll have to wait until after that!

The rugby world cup is starting next month, in France, and the Vuelta started yesterday so you still have plenty to keep you occupied.
