Getting old but not past it

Bonsoir tout le monde. I thoughtI will give you an update on our house move. Everything went well and expected to move before the end of the year until we received the surveyor's report for the house we were after. It was very bad . The house would have been a money pit with so many things wrong so, of course, we are not going ahead with it and started looking again. We just hope our buyer will be patient as he really wants ours.

I actually despise them they have caused me so much grief and I don’t think I can even move as they are about the only company that will deal with storage heaters with a 2 meter Total Heating with Total Control set up

Had a spin on the Wattbike. That’s 55 miles done since Monday so maybe it’ll shift some lard. Pleased with how realistic it feels on the gradients.
Two meters, one gas one electric?
Can't both be electric, can they.

Yep. One for heating and hot water controlled by radio teleswitch for timings and the other for everything else. Radio teleswitching is controlled by long wave radio which is due to be phased out next year so they will need to get the finger out and come up with a reliable smart meter that will combine the two and control the timings. Not sure I trust OVO to actually manage that, but if they do hopefully I can then move to someone else.

Another wet day for us, but I’ll pop out soon for a wander before it gets too heavy. Bit milder today.

Do you have a decent mobile signal at home Mo? Our new meter uses a sim type card to " talk " to Octopus. It takes readings every 30 minutes and I am on a tariff that has a cheap three hour slot overnight which is when I top up the house battery. I know they offer various other overnight tariffs so they may well be able to sort you out.

I quite fancy going with Octopus but doubt they will take me on with this set up. Even Economy 7 isn’t quite the same. At the moment I get a daytime boost in cold weather plus the hot water comes on at various times during the day too. It’s complicated  Since I am with OVO, I am hoping they will have no option but to come up with a meter which will give me the same timings.

I had a look at the Octopus FAQ pages and found this about RTS.

Good morning all.
Just reading today's posts has given me a headache.......bring back the old black grate with coal fire. You could even boil the kettle on it.
So today......my cleaner comes at 10.00.
I will then go for a lunch time pint with my neighbour.
That is it for my busy day ^_^

Good morning all.
A late night last night, I didn't get back from the gig at Hammersmith until nearly 0030 this morning, so it's taking me a while to get going this morning.
It was a great gig though. The band started a bit late because there were a lot of people still queuing to get in.

Morning all :hello:

Blimey! Fish Friday has come around quick again!
There's a 'Christmas Extravaganza' on tonight in Watchet, so we will be heading into town around 5pm for a mooch around and to get something to eat and drink. There's live music on at several venues, so it could be a long night.
Not a good time to prune any cherries as the wounds are open to disease for months. If pruning is absolutely necessary then summer is best :okay:

My information says ornamental Cherry trees are best pruned between November and March. There's a lot of conflicting information out there.
The one tree is being taken out completely, the other is just being trimmed.
