Good morning all.
Just reading today's posts has given me a headache.......bring back the old black grate with coal fire. You could even boil the kettle on it.
So today......my cleaner comes at 10.00.
I will then go for a lunch time pint with my neighbour.
That is it for my busy day ^_^

An elderly lady i once visited when I worked for social services cooked her breakfast on the open fire.No gas or electricity

All she would accept in help was meals on wheels she was reluctant to accept what she called charity.

Morning all :hello:

Blimey!

My information says ornamental Cherry trees are best pruned between November and March. There's a lot of conflicting information out there.
The one tree is being taken out completely, the other is just being trimmed.

As it's an ornamental tree it's ok to prune it now.
If it was a real cherry tree you prune whilst the leaves on still on as it stops the tree from bleeding which leaves the tree open to infection.
All stoned fruit trees are like this. IE cherries, peaches, apricots etc.

Morning folks :okay: just had a indoor spin as its not looking inviting out there. Will go for a beach walk in a while.

Re- cherry trees again, any Prunus tree [including ornamentals] is likely to get infected with silver leaf if winter pruned.

" Cherry trees are best pruned in mid summer to avoid a specific fungal disease called silver leaf. This can cause the death of branches. The spores of silver leaf are active from September to May"

Thats my tuppence worth its up to the pruner now! :okay:

Can't do that nowadays. You'd melt the lead.

That's OK then.
I've taken the one down this morning and will prune the bigger one next week, weather permitting. :okay:
