Morning all :hello:

Tell me how this works.
I ordered a hydraulic motorcycle work bench - £650 off Ebay from a reputable company - with a voucher for an extra £75 off.
It's a very heavy item and would be delivered by 'other courier' today or tomorrow.
Was told it needed signing for, in case of damage, and would be a kerbside delivery only.
So.....we went out yesterday lunchtime, instead of going today, came back full of cider and pasties and had an afternoon nap, didn't check around the grounds when we got back.
Woke up this morning, checked our cctv and there was a large wooden box by the side of my caravan.
It had been delivered yesterday at 13.30.
No notification, email or text. Still showing 'out for delivery Wed or Thursday' on Ebay.
Mixed feelings - glad that they delivered it up our driveway but miffed that I'd cancelled today's trip to meet our mates.

I find that happens quite frequently with eBay. I guess they work on the principle that people don’t complain about something being early, but, would be unhappy if it were late. Personally, I would rather it be “on time”, exactly for the reason you give, ie, I have made my plans on that basis.

On my afternoon walk I popped in to what was a medium sized supermarket but is now occupied by a local charity that runs a childrens Hospice.
It's a sort of flagship, and as it's so big there are several departments, furniture, electricals etc. The book department is done out like an old fashioned library and almost looks like a film set. Another area had a few racks with Bridal gowns and very posh frocks including some retro 30's style ones. Most of the stuff is of very good quality. What took my eye was the the number of old sewing machines, they were arranget on the higher shelves and I noticed a few similar but different makes. I'll pop back tomorrow with Mrs Tkk as there's a wooden carving that took my fancy, but I don't want to end up with something that might not suit.

If you eat bacon make sure it's well cooked lest you end up with some of these in your brain like the American guy featured in an article in today's Guardian.

Glad I didn’t see that before bed!

I don’t each much bacon anyway. Full of nitrates which aren’t very good for you.

Up early so I can get out before the rain arrives yet again.

Morning again. Went out early for a 5k jog. It felt hard work but I always feel good after it so it's worth it.

At least I've been out if the rain does appear shortly as per the forecast.

Good morning all.
Quite mild here with no rain.
Must put the black bin out. They don't normally collect till pm but you never know.
My Bro and SiL are visiting today and are taking me out for lunch.
I have some chicken that is defrosted so needs cooking. I think a slow cooker curry is called for.
