Sitting on my verandah having a cuppa after cutting my lawns.
Heard a familiar sound and ran into my garden - just as a Spitfire flew overhead.
Wonderful!

Had to pick the kids up from school today

well one of ours - plus his cousin

Then wait in for the eldest and the middle one - who get in seperately

and then their Mum when she gets in from work
kids were happy because they got 2 more Easter Eggs each - even the middle one was happy and stayed with us!

Anyway - in more unexpected news

SWMBO's son has been texting her

apparently he has got a new job!!!

a promotion at work - quite impressive actually

but more importantly - he thought to tell him Mum

normally we would find out several weeks later when his soon-to-be-wife mentioned it assuming that we knew!!

so my wife is very pleased in all sorts of ways!!

Started young, and still going.

Barnet,
Good morning all.
Another sunny start to the day here, with temperatures up to 25⁰ forecast. ☀️
Today there is another retirement do for one of the younger colleagues who has decided to hang up the train keys after 40 years on the iron road. There are now very few people I worked with who are still at work. The lads who were at our depot from the mid 70's to the time i retired in 2018 are now mostly retired and scattered around the country. It'll be nice to meet up though, we had great times socially outside of work.

Good morning from another sunny day in Dorset. Mrs Tkk's shed is no more, the fence people dismantled it and took it away. It's really opened up the garden and the new fence panels look swish. A short run this morning is on my schedule then I'll ponder on whether to tackle the Edinburgh half marathon towards the end of May🤔 . The " Edinburgh Marathon Festival " organisers are probably the biggest bunch of corporate shysters that I have come across in decades of entering races.
