Morning all :hello:
Yay! Fish Friday!
Looks like it's going to be a scorcher today:sun:
I've got to trim MrsDs bush this morning and also reset my 5 bar gate as it's sagged a little.
Will saunter down to the harbour later for a spot of lunch in the Star.

My 5 bar has been sagging for years and can't do much trimming of any bush

I am having one of those tubs with porridge and you just add water.
I have one more but would not recommend them. Very lumpy and not particularly nice.

Those will do at a pinch as emergency supplies which I take when sailing but at home we have Quaker Jumbo Oats made with all milk and I add a banana, honey and nuts. In fact mine is about to be consumed right now.
Oh and these days I make in microwave which is fine. The days of porridge in saucepan long gone, too much mess.

Morning. Another overcast and muggy day with showers forecast. Hopefully get a wander done before any arrive.

So much for getting my state pension. They’ve knocked £150 off my work pension in tax so I probably only end up around £600 per month better off.

Terrible - how are you supposed to be able to afford a new bike on that??

I am expecting the same problem next year when I get mine

but - a very long time later ** - when my wife, who is younger than me - gets hers
but she will probably get all hers
but then I will pay more tax at that point anyway because I get some back because of tax reasons
I will just wait and see how it works out

** she lied about her age to me when we first met - she said she was younger than she is***

*** to be precise she said she was 2 weeks younger then me but she is only 13 days younger

Hopefully, not a surprise?

No, but slightly more tax than I had thought.

Well this was a point I have made previously. Whilst of course there are tax incentives for paying into a pension when working, when you do retire and start drawing on them being taxed always to me seems unfair. I understand the financial aspects of it all it's just working and paying income tax and then you retire and still pay income tax.

Anyway. I can't complain, I'm in very fortunate posiiton of having had a very good career and so my retirement is very comfortable. For a lot of people it's not.

I compromise with the packet where I add milk and microwave. I will add eg blueberries and honey.

and expensive
I just use oats and milk - then lob some frozen fruit in
cheaper and nicer and not that much trouble if you use the microwave

just waiting for my morning pills to settle down before I make it - they need 20 minutes before I am supposed to have food

then I have to decide whether to go to Tesco this morning or this afternoon

decisions decisions decisions
will this hell never end!!!
