let the people rejoice

let joy be unconfined!!

Yes - I have found the source of the squeak on my bike!!!

It sounded exactly like the sort fo sound you would get from suspension
which makes sense as I I have suspension on my bike (OK ebike)

but after some fiddling and riding around in a rather unstable position it really seemed ot possible be coming from maybe somewhere further back

maybe around the motor
maybe further back

but not the front
probably

anyway - today I went on my normal ride and when I stopped I sort of fiddled and found that if I held the rear mudguard in exactly the right way and wiggled it on another exactly right way
then it squeaked!!!!

so when I got home I took the rear wheel off and found the relevant fixing on the mudguard was rather muddy and stiff
so I took the bolt out and the spacer and washer
and cleaned it all and put it all back with a load of grease

and it now seems better

I'm just hoping that it still remains quiet when I ride the thing!!!

Good morning. Another glorious day which brings lots of possibilities; hang the washing out, iron yesterday's wash, tidy up and yet more exciting stuff!!!

More excitingly I have a Teams meeting with AbilityNet, a charity which supports older people in the use of technology. We're hoping to introduce a support programme to our u3a.

This afternoon is our twice monthly cards group. Attendance has been dropping recently as people go on holiday. During summer we only manage two tables, other times it's usually four.

Now, where are the clothes pegs?

Morning.
Glorious and scorchio to boot. Washing on but wife gets the duty of hanging it out as by time it's finished I'll be at dentist. Shame really as rather like loading the dishwasher she never manages it as well as me but that's another matter...
Plan for rest of day is clean all the windows outside up and downstairs and clean woodwork of the box windows we have at back as a bit of green growth appearing.
Possibly a short ride later.

It's all go.

This retirement lark is not for the feint hearted. 😁
