Good morning, at least I hope it will be. Grey and dull. It's the Chorley Flower Show today and we're rather hoping to go. We thought it would be a good day out for #2SP - always lots of kids stuff. That's if we can get out the door.........

She's been miserable since we collected her from nursery getting worse by the hour which culminated in two hours of screaming for daddy. By screaming I mean full on, shouting, rigid body stuff until she threw up. Finally in bed at 8.30 only to wake at 4.20 and 6.30 immediately shouting for daddy. Eventually got up at 7.30 today.

This has never happened before with her or the other two. The only thing which placates her is Tele Tubbies which she's watching on loop. I don't approve but it's better than a deeply unhappy toddler.

Meanwhile our WhatsApp responses to the "how's it going" messages are a little guarded!!! "Tricky" has been the word.........only three days to go.

Morning all :hello:

I've just ordered a 20 ton hydraulic press to replace the 6 ton one I've already got.
I tried to separate a Bantam crank with my smaller press and it wouldn't touch it.
It won't laugh at the big one!
I've no mechanical knowledge. How does a "press" separate two things? The word implies, to me, the opposite.

Im just going to get £55 cheapo one. 700 watts is 700 watts, and if that one blows up in 5 years I won't be so upset.

I dont mind paying a premium for quality if I'm genuinely getting quality in return, but these days we're paying a premium for the likes of DeLonghi, VW, Sony, and the like and receiving the same crap product as the meat and potatoes brands.

As far as I can see you end up with basically the same working parts

but pay a lot for teh extra features such as the ability to microwave a potato perfectly by pressing a few buttons
presuming that the potato complies with the specification expected by "the system"

and anyway - within a few weeks you will have tried out half teh features and found that it is easier to just put it on either "nuke" or "defrost" for the amount of time you calculate from experience
then check it and do a bit more if needed

so you just use the top manual setting and the default defrost setting and never use the rest that took up half the cost (or more)

Another wander done round the riverside trail. I met a lovely 17 week old black Labrador puppy called Cooper. Almost made me broody for another one.

:hello:Afternoon, crappy night sleep as I was awake most of the time and that was after taking 30mg amitriptyline, I don't think they do me any good now as I've been on them for years.
Did some ironing and made a egg, cheese, cress mayo sandwich for lunch, I think I'll have a lie down now.

I remember getting them for a short period for a bad bout of sciatica. They seemed to help for a couple of nights only and then back to normal.

Watching some blokes riding bikes on the big screen - unfortunately the cat is refusing to move her chair, I hope nothing exciting happens in the blank part of the screen
