A flash of my warrant card got me into Downing Strert and my photo taken out front with Mrs D. My rucksack, and lengthy beard didnt arouse any suspicion.

As a kid in the 60's you used to be able to walk up Downing Street and through the alleyway at the end into the parade ground.
Somewhere there is a photograph of a very young me standing on the doorstep of No. 10 next to the Constable on duty.

Yes, I think I recall being on the steps of No10, next to the Constable on duty, when I was a child. Around 1952, I think, I would have been about 5 years old.

Just come back froma ride - only 16 miles as it is getting to being tea time

Had the sausage and chips - I was hungry and we only have brown rice which takes 25 minutes

then found I had no spuds and the new frozen chips take 20 minutes anyway

but I was started by then!

Just heard an article on the News that VPNs have jumped massively in the stats for downloaded app on the applle store

My first thought was that it just shows how many people want to watch cycling on the tele


but apparently is it connected to trying to circumvent the ID check on Porn sites

seems like I am getting old!!!

Good morning. Overnight rain so it feels very fresh. Mrs P and I have decided we won't be repeating last weekend for sometime. Four days is too long to leave a 21 month old. I can never express that view to her parents but it's what I now believe. They're away for five days in a month's time. My recollection is we didn't have a childless break for 15 - 16 years.

Anyway. Done and dusted. A bog standard Granddad day today with #1 and #3 granddaughters.

I'm going to catch up the final ten minutes of Toxic Town while I finish my coffee. Quick tidy round, exercises, might squeeze in the ironing and then off to collect the kids.

Toxic Town, a true story, is on Netflix. Great cast. Highly recommended. It's a difficult and emotional watch.

Morning all......another morning when I would rather still be in bed but sadly am awake.
Raining quite steadily and it's cool, set to stop raining by mid morning.
No idea what I will be doing apart from a load of shredding......stuff that just seems to catch up over years of ignoring it.
