I have only been retired 5 minutes and I am effortlessly slipping into the retiree role. How did I ever find time to go to work? 😁

I would like to say I have bought an allotment. But in fact it is a tiny house in a 453 square metre garden. I am busy putting a click floor in the tiny house and sorting out an outdoor cooking area on the cheap.

I thought of a name for the place as I was raking bucket fulls of mirabelle plums off the grass. "La Maison Mirabelle". That will get the locals talking.

I have made my own jam for the first time. I am shocked how good mirabelle jam is. I am now researching how to make mirabelle hooch.

Morning all :hello:

Off to the White Horse bike meeting later on the Barracuda; Mrs D's going on her Bantam. They've got a band on, as well as a bbq, so should be good if the weather holds out.

Good morning. It's wet! Despite another poor sleep I'm feeling remarkably chipper today. I went back to bed at 7.00am and grabbed another 90 minutes proper sleep, it would have been more if Mrs P hadn't flushed the loo. I may speak to her about this unthinking and inconsiderate behaviour. No matter Paul is refreshed and up for the day ahead..............which involves the entire family for lunch, that's eating lunch not us eating them for lunch. I'm just having a quick elevenses and then back to my next task which is to make a fancy green salad.

Last night we went to watch Handlebards perform Much Ado About Nothing. It was a beautiful summer evening, picnics and wine were consumed while we were entertained. This troupe are bonkers, utterly bonkers and lots of fun. They are also very, very good. They cycle between venues carrying the stage props, clothes etc. on their bikes. If you get the chance do go. Highly recommended.

Sir Ian McKellen "I have never seen a version as outrageous, or as uproariously funny."

The castle in the video is down the road from us and is where we went last night.

We saw them a few years back at the Lighthouse Theatre in Poole. As you say, absolutely bonkers and hilarious. They did there performance in one of the small sub theatre rooms so we were literally a few feet from the mayhem. Our performance was " The Scottish Play "

Barnet,
Been out on the garden doing a bit of watering. I have picked a dinners worth of french beans and runners, and I noticed that the first of the tomatoes are ripening. 😁
There is a bit of dampness in the air but the rain hasn't arrived yet.
Tea tonight will be chicken breast, stuffed with cheese and wrapped in bacon, with said beans, roast tomatoes, mushrooms and dauphine potatoes.:hungry::hungry:
