Sadly the Haynes car manuals are no longer published for newer cars, they were great in their day . I changed timing belts , clutches , brake discs, cylinder head gaskets etc etc with their aid on many cars over the years. If you have older fords etc Alan Howatt has some v good demos on youtube

The most recent Car DIY I have carried out, was to change the clutch on daughter's Ford Fiesta ( 1981 model) that. was in 1992. The car was actually shared by daughters 2 and 3, the day after I finished changing the clutch, daughter No2 ran into the back of someone, and demolished front wing of Fiesta. I did "acquire" a replacement wing from a scrap yard, but, fortunately daughter no2 was able to "acquire" a temporary boyfriend with the skills to replace the damaged wing. 😂

Exhausting day today, met a good friend and his son on the motorbikes in Bourton On The Water for lunch, ridiculously hot and really busy so the riding was just unpleasant, Bourton was insane, it felt like Great Yarmouth, sadly the Cotswolds is being completely spoilt with the visitor numbers, we have noticed this year it’s just so much busier, my pal and his son got held up for half an hour just trying to get through Stow On Wold. Fortunately we had the large designated motorcycle parking on the High Street to ourselves, felt a bit smug about that when every car park was full!

However enjoyed a very pleasant lunch at this place https://www.smithsofbourton.com/ and found a perfect little table for three outside in the shade, completely shattered now, the heat has wiped me out.

Always loved the place since I lived locally in the 1970s, but even then it was a busy place in the summer months. These days if we have a day out there , it will be in spring or autumn. Probably because I am not a lover of crowds these days lol . 😀

Barnet,
Good morning all. It's very warm already, but will possibly be a couple of degrees cooler than yesterday, only 29⁰ today. :heat: I had to have a cold shower before going to bed last night. It does help with getting off to sleep though.
Millie has another appointment at the vets for another round of acupuncture first thing this morning and we are meeting up with some friends at lunchtime. No bike riding today.
On yesterday's ride, I encountered 3 sets of roadworks, each with temporary 4 way traffic lights, and one road closed whilst Thames water repair a collapsed sewer. Every road in or out of Barnet has road work, the congestion is bad. Luckily it's the holiday season or there could be gridlock.
