I have never paid income tax on my state pension, but saying that I don't even get the full amount

At the moment no one who has just the state pension as their only income pays income tax, even after the increase that is possible next year you still won't as it is below the tax threshold.
However, if the threshold is not increased in 2027 the pension may be above the threshold and tax charged on the pension above the threshold of £12,570.
Anyone who has a private or workplace pension does pay tax on that.

I have been feeling as rough for the past seven weeks, the doctor even put me on antibiotics last week, something I have not taken for at least forty years. I seem to be coming through it now though, unfortunately Justine has the same symptoms and is a few days behind me, off on holiday Saturday so some sunshine and rest should see it clear off completely. I am almost full time in Liverpool now, dent work has been wrapped up and still playing with the import business which is a nice income making hobby. Life is good.

BTW I've been passed as fit to drive a truck for the next year.. 👍

Better break out the plaid shirt and the Yorkie bars.

Went for a ride this afternoon while SWMBO was at the hairdressers

couldn;t manage the normal ride in teh time availble until she needed picking up so went to "The Dream" in ST Helens instead

which has a lot more uphill bits that canal paths!!

anyway - pleased with how my legs coped with them in spite of a lot of wheel slip when I stood on the pedals due to the steepness and the gravel paths and road type tyres rather than MTB type

but my legs just dealt with it

my breathing however was not so good - I probably should have taken a puff of asthma inhaler before I got to that bit

but I got there without getting off and pushing!!

Oh - and all the uphill was into a head wind as well

route back was downhill with a tailwind and on proper roads - so was more than a bit faster
