Ok, so I moaned about fish & chip prices in Kendal a couple of days ago.

Now, another pricing moan...

2 x mirror Wills plus 2 Property & Finance LPA's + 2 Health LPA's a whopping...

... £1900!

6 hours work, apparently!

You can create/register an LPA yourself directly on the Gov website for £82 (£92 from November).

I can’t remember what details were required but it was not difficult when I did both types for my power of attorney for my mum’s Affairs. It did not need a solicitor.

Is that your truncheon collection on the right-hand side in the second picture?

They are his dildos collection . Look carefully and you can see there is a lot of wear on them

Shepherds pie eaten. Thoroughly recommend it it’s a Dale Pinnock recipe. You don’t miss the meat.

At the old house I had two single garages and an 18 x 15 wooden log cabin type workshop so I was spoiled for space.

While the nrw house is twice as big as the old one going down to only one garage was a shock. I sold a few bikes, gave one to my BiL, and was going to give a couple to Biggs as I knew hed give them a good home but he insisted on paying for them, bless him.

I no longer have a home gym, but as there's a gym about 1/2 a mile away now thats not such a hardship.

Still a decent size for a new build

I'm Back!!!

wadda you mean you hadn't noticed I was gone!!!

anyway - we went to Italy

lots to report but lets just say that the coacj trip was supposed to be very long

but one of the feeder coached bringing people to the main coach didn;t seem to work too well after the driver backed it into a lampost
and then, in trying to rectify it drove into another coach

so we left folkstone late by an hour or so

then the driver from Folkstone to Calais and then onto Rhiems - got lost

when the Head Office noticed that was was off the very easy Autoroute and was bascially widning his way round tiny village in rural France
and heading to Paris
then decided to ring him
but he didn;t answer because he was driving
or probably because he was lost, off route and in panic mode - and driving

do they started ringing the contact phone of passengers - and one answered and got the driver to stop

we ended up in the middle of picthc dark French countryside - with an ornamental bike (TdF style) at the side of the road

for over 2 hours while the drivers and their manager came out and tried to find us

they were great but clearly very p*****d off about having to wander all over the French countryside trying to find the coach!!!

and then the 2 new driver - that should have taken over in Rhiems many many km down the road - did an excellent looking after us for the rest of the week

totalling a 43 hours coach trip!!!

but also

YEA GODs there were some weird people on the coach

many f which a certain Nigel has listed as his perfect target audience

and lots of lovely people

Highlight of the trip back - perfectly to plan but still well pover 30 hours - several Team cars passed us with TdF type bikes on the roof
then a team coach - Lidl Trek
followed a minute or so later by UnoX

then some idiot decided to pull into a service station so "some people" coul d get some food and go to the toilet

so I missed any other cars or coaches!!!

Still - we did see Pompeii and Herculaneum which were just amazing!!!

Did you not check where you were with their coach tracker?

I would second this. LPAs are very simple to do yourself and the fees charged by professionals are quite outrageous.

A major advantage to creating one's own LPAs is there's no rush to complete them. There are details, one's wishes, which one may wish to consider at length and return to more than once. Each edit is stored for at least six months.

@SpokeyDokey some 10+ years ago we paid £1500 to set up two wills and a family trust. I'm not sure if ours are "mirror" wills as i don't know what this means, they are identical though.

Dark outside but sounds wet. We're forecast for 5% rain, cloud and 10mph gusting to 20. Winter cycling weather. Today we start our winter hills. We stay close to home on short, lumpy rides. I say "short," today's route is 47 miles, and I have a 20 mile round trip to the start/finish. I might look for an early drop off point.

Good film at our little club last night. The Apprentice about Trump's early life.

I had an excellent afternoon with #1SP. We are big, big friends but since she started school I've only seen her once instead of every week. I'm very happy to know the bond is still there. I see her briefly when I collect her sister, when she always tickles me, this happened yesterday. I realise now she's dropped hugs and the tickling is a spontaneous "hug." I haven't worked out why.
