I used to love running (never got past 1/2 marathons) but it really knackered my knees up. That's how I 'discovered' cycling.
Started with the 10K fun runs, entry fees got too high so moved up to longer distances. Cycling to the start and back home.

Bangers and mash, carrots with onion gravy, home made rice pudding and cream for afters
not much for a Sunday dinner, but it keeps the belly still.

You do look after yourself.....well done sir.
I have just had 2 slices of toast with grilled cheese and tomatoes.

Waaay back when I was doing a bit of distance running there was a chap who cycled from, iirc, Kidderminster to Solihull to take part in a 100k road race ( 5k laps ). I chatted to him afterwards as he was getting ready to cycle home and he was just so matter of fact about the fact that as the race was on a Sunday there was no way for him to get there on public transport in time for the start of the race he decided to cycle there. And they used to say that I was bonkers...

One has to try, it's very easy to slip in to bad habits when you live on your own and live on tins and ready meals.
Not knocking ready meals some are very good, I used them last year when I was ill and alway have a few in the
freezer as a just in case.
