Good morning from a grey Dorset. Very little sun yesterday but the solar panels still contributed a bit to the heating. I went for an early evening walk yesterday and was listening to a series of BBCpodcasts about scammers and the techniques that they use, a real eye opener as to how sophisticated some of the scams are, with some great advice on how to spot them. Today's mission is to wander over the Heath in search of a brook that my outstanding new map app shows me is there, but I have never seen it. With gps I should be able to nail it down to within a few metres🤞

Replying to myself, I found " Broadwork Brook ", dried up at the moment and just off one of the main tracks on the heath. As I was jogging slowly uphill I thought I could hear hooves, looked behind me and there were two ladies on ponies cantering towards me. I moved to stand at the side of the track and they called out a " thank you " as they approached. This inspired me to doff my cap and bow as they cantered past which caused much laughter.

My new phone (Samsung S25+ has a good camera. This photo is on the feeder, looking through my patio door.

Not earth shattering as I am just getting used to it.

I've just taken down the tomato plants and the plants are now in the green bin for collection on Saturday. I now have a couple of pounds of green tomatoes to ripen off indoors. I don't think they will do much outside now.
It's been a very good growing year, both the Tom's and the beans did very well.

I've got similar. Three plants had virtually no tomatoes left so I've taken those down, chopped them up and now on the compost heap. The one remaining has perhaps 50/60 cherry tomatoes on it. I've stripped off all the dieing foliage, leaving only healthy leaves and the toms. I'm hopeful as I have had ripe tomatoes in late November in the past.

That's a great pic, Dave.

From a bog standard (though new) phone.
In the 80s I was a divisional manager for a subsidiary of Shell. As such I was provided with (what was called) a mobile/car phone.
The size of a house brick and wired into the car.
BUT......nobody else i knew had one and I was the 'bees knees'.
Compare that to this one.......it's like space technology !!!

Apparently I have just completed my 500th activity on Strava

or so it says

SWMBO is out on the piss for afternoon tea with her mate so I decided the grass could go another day without cutting and went for a short ride instead

if she is capable of operating a phone she will probably be ringing for a lift back in an hour or so!
