Salut. Had our chimney swept this morning and was surprised he charged us the same as last year: £60. We need a new cowl on top as the old one got blown off in the wind.
Specsavers for yearly eye test this afternoon but don't expect to need new glasses as last year's are still OK.
We are going to see Tony Christie in Rhyl tomorrow night. He is 82 now and apparently suffers from early dementia.
Have a good one everyone.

Tony Christie, a blast from the past. Great voice in his day....... I hope it's still good as I hate to see singers who carry on going when past thier sell by date.
I always assumed that "early dimetia" meant that the person got it way too young. Reading your post made me realise that it means what it says......it's in the early stages.....duhh
Enjoy your evening.

How to save money - DIY.
Feeling rather smug now after fixing the toilet syphon. Thought I might need a trip to the plumbers merchants but then I thought I'd remove the syphon and strip it down as I reckoned the diaphragm had split.

Sure enough....it was split in several places.
I rummaged through the recycling box, found a suitably sized ready meal container, which seemed to have the right material qualities, then I cut out a replacement diaphragm. Reassembled the unit and installed it in the cistern.
Works perfectly now. :okay:
Reckon I saved myself over £100 in plumbers bills and also prevented another piece of plastic going to landfill.
:okay:
Doubt many kids today would do that despite espousing the green agenda.

Been to the Docs.
Did you know that you can call in at any chemist for a BP test.... I never knew that.
So, that's what I did.
My BP is on the high side but not by a great deal.
Its 135/91 which tbh means nothing to me.
Apparently salt is one thing to cut down on.i do cook but have drifted into the ready meal mode..... it's just too easy.
I'm will eat what I have in the way of ready meals then concentrate on cooking my own.

welsh dragon

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Update to the sags of the fibre broadband
They can't run the cable from the pole to the house as it has to go over the stream and even though its only a couple of inches deep, if they do it they will be fired. So a specialist hazard crew will have to come with a team, a manager and a crane to do the job, hopefully within the next 10 days. They will make sure the cable is lifted over the stream. What a palaver.

I'm on the No.14 bus. No idea if it's the last one late or the next one early... 🤷‍♂️

It is worth getting a home BP machine - they are not expensive
and then you can take it once a week/month and do it when you are calm and not pressured

Then go onto a proper website and type in the results, and it will tell you if it is OK or not

I write it down as well and show it to the doctor/nurse when they want to do one

there is no real point in changing your diet to help things like that unless you can monitor it properly in proper consistent conditions
IMO anyway
