Hello! We've been in A&E for 3½ hours and waiting to see a doctor. Mrs P fell in the garden and landed very heavily on her shoulder and lower back. Fortunately the Cocodamol have kicked in.

I was five minutes from leaving for my ride. So many different factors combined to mean she was in the garden. Weird how these things happen.

Just had a TV licence goon at the door.

I asked, "did you just walk down my drive?"

He confirmed that he had.

"Excellent, then you know the way out." Slammed the door in his face.

Im expecting a visit from Waitrose soon to prove I shop at M&S.

So that's a shite day over and done with. Mrs P has broken her left clavicle. Six weeks in a sling while it heals. I think the morphine has kicked in as she's started talking about Negroni recipes - completely out of the blue. This could have been far worse so small mercies and all that.

One tip I'll pass on. I rang seven friends who live within 200 metres to get help to lift Mrs P up. No one answered. Since then they have all messaged on the lines of "sorry, I always keep my phone on silent." I rather hope they won't any longer. You think help is a call away........it isn't.

At least ive planted my blackberry and put in some daffs as well
Talking clavicles- i broke my left one too whilst touring Ireland on a motorbike, a young driver didnt see me over taking and turned right across my 'bows' and forced me/bike/girl friend straight into a wall
