Good morning all.
The overnight rain has stopped, but the deluge for today and the next couple of days is just starting, I don't think I'll be out on the bike today.🤔
I have a prescription to pick up and a meeting of the escape committee this afternoon.

Weather is awful. Confined to barracks for the day methinks.

Well, the need for more sleep won the battle and another hour has been grabbed.
Time to do battle with the bedding.
Talking to my friend yesterday it was obvious that he struggles with the duvet as well.
My domestic experience with women is (fortunately) limited but the only 3 ie Sue, my daughter and my cleaner have no such problems..... is it a skill that women are born with and men are doomed to merely envy ??

I was taught that with a decent malt.......add a trickle of cold water to help it breathe then take it slowly.
Cheap whisky eg Aldi's own I have always added lemonade or Coke etc.

Aldi and Lidl do an Islay peated Malt. I tried both a few years ago. Very good indeed. One of the YouTube channels that specialises in whisky did a taste test and said it was outstanding value. Of course the particular batches will change over time but for several months the speyside stuff would be on the shelves but a gap where the Islay usually is.

I am one of the people that just don't like peaty malts**. I like the sweeter Speyside type. That's why this new Black Ruby sounds nice to me.
**me and Laphroiag (spelling ?) are like Ebiker and cheese.
I am told that, as a child, Ebiker was forced to watch Wallace and Gromit for hours on end.

Nice to look at but you are welcome to my share of it.

Just got my letter saying how much Old Age Pension I will be getting

looks like it will be just over £920 every 4 weeks

which will confuse the money matters - everything else is paid monthly!

but anyway - Thanks to all the people who are still working!!!

overall I have paid enough in over the years!

The 4 weekly payment means that once a year, you get two pension payments, in the same calendar month. My little "feel good" scheme is that I kept everything on monthly. Then, in the calendar month when I get two pension payments, I have a whole pension payment to "squander' (say) on cycling stuff, but, more likely on some "essential" item of clothing which Mrs B wants. I have given up on trying to explain the difference between the words "want" and "need", it is akin to discussing how a thermostat works 😂

I also get my railway pension 4 weekly, 4 days after the state pension. We were 4 weekly paid at work for many years so it was no problem for me.

Interesting thing happened yesterday

I saw a quote someone said someone has said - on Reddit

I went off to Google to see if it was true - because Reddit is about as reliable as "The Other Place"

and the AI thing on the Goodle search came back
but its fist source of information was clearly the very Reddit post that I started with

which clearly showed that Reddit is one of the sources that AI uses to get its results together

which makes the AI bit of Google about as reliable as a Taxi driver when it comes to checking things out!!
"Well I had this bloke in the back of the cab the other day who heard in the pub that xxxx said that......"

sort of thing

Artificial Intelligence is just a very good way of searching the whole WWW
including all the bits that are full of total and complete garbage
and then summarising the whole thing
