Barnet,
It's been a dull dreary day here. Domestics done and a short ride out on the bike. We've just got back from the 2nd dog walk and the rain has started again.
I've got some chicken thighs marinating in buttermilk, with various herbs and some worcestershire sauce. They will get coated in flour and some spices tomorrow and baked in the oven. It's actually a Tom Kerridge recipe for 'southern fried chicken', but with a lot less fat.

Evening folks :okay: well thats my xmas shopping done, a plant, a calendar, some pretty dried flowers for a vase, phew! Thank goodness for shopping online. wouldnt want to be in town amongst the crowds where im certain to pick up a flue bug or covid or the black death  I reckon xmas is the biggest cult there is with the usual problems for anyone wanting to leave....

Just bought a new 50 - 75mm micrometer.

Just sold 4 of them as I have been retired from engineering since 2004 and don't intend to go back to it.

Managed a ride to the airport this morning

it is not quite as far as my normal ride but the bike doesn;t come back covered in mud

did see 2 planes land and one take off which is nice

did come across a walker that seemed to have had Tsunoda's instructions from yesterday

I approached and rang my bell and he moved left leaving room on the right
as I got closer he went to the middle so I slowed and rang the bell again
and he went right leaving room on the left

as I was passing - very wide and on the verge - he swerved left towards me but I managed to miss him

at least I know how Lando felt - although a tiny bit slower!

did see some fly tipping and took a photo - reported via "fixmystreet" as I have no clue who is in charge just there - it is quite close to the Merseyside/Halton boundary and only accessible from Halton
