Morning all.
A very broken sleep but fell into a deep one early hours.
Have to leave at 0900 as I have yet another blood test...... I can't have much left.
Then have to nip and collect a parcel from Superdrug. I chose a store thinking I know where that is and plenty of parking. Realised yesterday I got it wrong again Dad and chose the wrong one.

Morning folks :okay: definitely out for a spin this morning as weather is as good as its going to get for December :okay:
Have been enjoying re-reading 'Gormenghast' by Mervyn Peake, his descriptive writing is incredibly rich and poetic i love this introduction of one of the main characters...

"As his lordship stared at the doctor another figure appeared, a girl of about fifteen with long rather wild black hair. She was gauche in movement and in a sense, ugly of face, but with how small a twist might she not suddenly have become beautiful. Her sullen mouth was full and rich-her eyes smouldered."
"Where have you been for the last fortnight Fuchsia? 'Oh here and there, farther, she said staring at her shoes . She tossed her long hair and it flapped down her back like a pirate's flag. She stood in about as awkward a manner as could be conceived. Utterly un-feminine- no man could have invented it."

Morning. A chillier 5 degrees here just now but it looks like today and tomorrow are to be dry at last.

Just had a wander round the town and made what looks like a flying boobie.

Back from having my blood stolen. Got my 'click and collect' from Superdrug. Turned out that i had got the correct store to collect from......I had just never realised the complex had a named road.
RAIN.....RAIN AND MORE RAIN.
the car park to the clinic was 1/3rd under water and parts were impossible to even walk through.
Breckie is now calling......grilled cheese and tomatoes on toast......I am getting seriously addicted to this

Good morning all fellow retirees.
It's dark and cool outside with a bit of drizzle.
Today is bin day, normally the first one down is the recycling, blue bin, followed a couple of hours later by the general rubbish, black bin.
All the usual stuff to do today plus a final rake up of the leaves in the back garden.
I have found a load of vegetables in the fridge that need to be used, so a large pot of vegetable soup will be on the go today.
Rachel from accounts has paid up my Christmas bonus, £10, now what to spend it on?

Spent half of mine today. We got on bus, before the 09:30 concessionary pass window, two adults at. £2.50 = £5.00. I may be able to convince Mrs @BoldonLad to pay her share 😂

I seem to have that too. Do you know what it’s for? Im also totally confused about the winter heating payment; I don’t need it, but am totally unaware of whether or not we qualify for it up here.

From your name, I assume "up here" means Scotland?, if yes, you have a different Winter Fuel Allowance System. The amount payable is in the range £101.70 = £305.10, according to Google. I don't know the fine detail of who gets what.

It’s a £10 Christmas bonus that the government gives to those on state pensions or benefits. If you were born before September 1959 you should get the winter fuel payment.
