Well an evening in the local A&E, and not for the usual reason, or anything close.
Attempted mugging/assaulted by an electric bike rider who mounted the pavement, riding straight at me, stopping just in front of me.
Stepped back and slightly to the the kerbside. As I did this, he walked the bike closer. Left arm stretched out to grab something, and with his hand like it was the only thing he wanted was my neck. Got my arm in the way to stop it, the next I knew we were both on the opposite side of the road. He'd pulled me across two lanes of moving traffic.
Whether it was the change of direction by him that made one or both of us lose hold I don't know.
Reported to the police, via a phone outside the station. From there onwards to the A&E.
Bruised, sore but no real damage done.

Sore and p***ed off, at myself as much as anything else, but otherwise okay.
If he was expecting me just to give in, he got a surprise. As did I, through two lanes of moving traffic and not hit by anyone in either lane. Driver of one that stopped, to avoidus, said I was flying as we passed the front of her car.
Thanks to the pair of you though.
Those pictures of nude sleepers were not my doing. I have an alibi that proves otherwise.
Where were these nude sleepers, and were the railway sort? A new way of brightening up rail travel near stations!

I said a while ago I were no longer going to be moving out of their way should they take to the pavement. I've had enough of moving out of the way for something that shouldn't be on the road, much less the pavement.
I wasn't expecting the arm coming out in my direction.
What makes ot really annoying for me is that I think the same rider and bike flew past me in the centre of Bradford, the bike having been on the same train.
And the strong taste of cannabis coming from him, when he stopped me.

His hood was pulled tight round his face. I'd have missed his eyes.
I'm going to start carrying a small cheap, no loss if it does get taken, and lock the bike if I see it and rider again.

Eyes, throat, love plums, knees are all good targets.
If youre grabbed round the neck its always fun smacking their elbow from below to bend it in a direction nature never intended.
This is, of course, all last resort welf defence stuff. Not recommended for use on young children or in the bedroom!
