Back home now.good pub meal with my family enjoyed. Trying to warm up as the church was cold and it got through to my poor old bones.

(I did take the youngest Grand Kid to see Santa at his school a week or so ago so I know that was bo***)

I like GB News and similar - they talk the same language and hold the same views as me.

Well an evening in the local A&E, and not for the usual reason, or anything close.
Attempted mugging/assaulted by an electric bike rider who mounted the pavement, riding straight at me, stopping just in front of me.
Stepped back and slightly to the the kerbside. As I did this, he walked the bike closer. Left arm stretched out to grab something, and with his hand like it was the only thing he wanted was my neck. Got my arm in the way to stop it, the next I knew we were both on the opposite side of the road. He'd pulled me across two lanes of moving traffic.
Whether it was the change of direction by him that made one or both of us lose hold I don't know.

Reported to the police, via a phone outside the station. From there onwards to the A&E.
Bruised, sore but no real damage done.

Well that's annoying

Final AgeUK session this morning and the woman who runs the things I work for gave me a Christmas present - specifically from her rather than from the charity!

Never thought of getting her one but she said it was because she couldn;t do it all without me - she has lots of volunteers but most of then never respond when she asks for someone to help a client

Anyway - it was mostly a nice box of biscuits that I am not allowed to eat
but my wife said are lovely!!!

Technically, no. Occasional visitors who are not let unsupervised at any time with children or vulnerable people dont need the CRB check.

I recall my old karate instructor suggesting a solid & serious defence is the palm of the hand hard up the nose. Can result in death, but not too likely….
Not for those school kids, of course 🫣

Well, that’s the last gig of the year over. The Sweet at Rock City, complete with the last living original member 👀
A lot of fun….I mean, I was *very* young when they were having hits at the start of the 70s, but I have older sisters who liked them. The sound was brilliant. Little Willy still wouldn’t go home 😜
