Busy day today - for me

firstly a "catch up" with the "Volunteer lead" at AgeUK where I volunteer
not sure what she want to talk about or if it is just a "making sure everything is OK" box ticking things

then off to a helping thing at a local "Independant living" building that we go to every month

ANyway - that was typed in earlier and somehow didn;t get posted

so - I'm back now

everythign went well and we got the NHS App installed for a couple of people -it can take a while sometimes!

Then we got kicked out of the room by a birthday party - which was "Ladies only"

There was another lady who wanted the NHS App installed for her and one of the other AgeUK people was helping her - so we went next door

well - this person who was helping her is great - she knows what she is doing
BUT
not as much as me - at the end of the day I have been working with computery things for a number of years that is twice the time she has been alive!!

anyway - it was getting complicated
and I was at the far end of the table just thinking "I can see what is wrong - just ......."
but not wanting to undermine her as I had already interrupted a few times

anyway - it got sorted eventually
by which time the person in charge of our little group had started saying "maybe we can come back and Mike (that's me!) can have a better look at it"

Anyway - I'm home and several people were helped

The only time I have watched telly in bed is when I was in hospital.
Been making chicken pies today made 8 in all.

Blooming heck. My car is due to be renewed on 5th February. Renewal price a whopping £422.

Searching around Aviva £188. Guess which one I'm going with.

I was going to say "wow £422 is pretty cheap for a car" - but I won't

But when something like this happens, it seems to me that there are 2 possibilities

a) your profiles qualifies you for the category of "person who might not check the cost of renewal and may be dumb enough to just go with it"

or

b) This is a person we think is not a suitable person to have as a customer

either way - I would ditch them and put them on the "don;t even bother checking then for a few years" list

welsh dragon

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.

I am def going with option 2. Take my custom elsewhere

There is no other (logical) choice. Annoying really.h
You could phone the present supplier and give them the opportunity, purely to save you the mither of changing.
I did that last time and.........they offered a measly £15 off.......but I've heard of people being successful.

Last time we went to sky from Virgin - I rang virgin and told them the offer I had got from Sky

They offered me almost nothing off - something like £5 for the year

SO I went to Sky
rang up Virgin and the person I spoke to then offered my more like £20 a week - whic brought it to about the same as Sky

but by then I had signed up with SKy - because I had already given Virgin a "last chance" and they had said that was the best they could do

the bloke I talked to last actually said "if you had spoken to me ...."
Honestly???
what is the point in having different people who have different parameters
which is annoying
