Just got back from one of those OAP days where you fit as many things as possible into 'one trip'.
Stop 1. GP pharmacy to pick up my 'drain on the NHS' prescriptions. Success!
Stop 2. VW main dealer visit to get quote to supply and fit new front top grill due to suicidle Pheasant impact. £300 to supply and fit about £10 worth of plastic. £100 of which is labour to: remove 5 torx screws, lift off bonnet release lever, pull grill off, release radar sensor cable and reverse using new grill. 20 mins tops. If it needs recalibrating it will be another £300 - I don't think it needs this, though.
Earliest date they can do is end March. Courtesy car now costs £25 for the day so it is no longer really a courtesy car! Success of sorts?
Stop 3. Nevisport Kendal. Closed all day every Thursday according to sign on the door. Failure. Loss to them c£220.
Stop 4. Next Kendal. Mrs SD wanted a 3 pack of padded socks in black and in white. White out of stock. 50:50. Loss to them £10
Stop 5. Boots Kendal. We wanted 2 new toothbrushes. Out of stock. Failure. £8 Loss to them.
Stop 6. McD Kendal. For a pee. Success!
Stop 7. Sports Direct. For 2 pairs
Nike jogging bottoms. Out of stock. Failure. Loss to them £110.
Stop 8. Sainsbury petrol station. Success.
And they say support your high street!
A day of purgatory!
Enjoy the balance of your day, all.
