Just be aware that lock knives are a twilight area of UK law, and cant be carried in public without "good reason" - theres no automatic right to carry one, unlike other types kf knife under 7.62mm.

I've modified my similar tool so the knife blade itself doesn't lock open by removing the blade and griding off the notch and my bench grinder.
I knew the UK was tough on carrying knives, but didn't realize you could get into trouble for having a locking knife on a multi tool. This reminded me that I have a multi tool that I have seen in ages so I went and dug it out of my bike tool bag. I didn't even know it had a locking knife on it, 45mm long. I opened it up and then couldn't see how to fold it up. It took me a few minutes to do it. Good to know I have a knife on it.

Carrying a knife, here, can lead to an arrest, but only under certain circumstances, like if you're up to no good. Cops don't usually bother about them unless you're being arrested for something else. Anything can be considered an offensive weapon.

Good morning all.
A kind of sunny start to the day here, but a few dark clouds are gathering to the west.
Sainsbury's are delivering the weekly goodies soon. A strange substitute today. I ordered a waiters corkscrew and bottle opener, they obviously haven't got one, so they have substituted it with a tea strainer🤦

When I worked in the states they thought I was weird besause I'd lock my P99 in a desk drawer when I finished a shift, and walked the 1/2 mile to my digs instead of taking the Suburban I was entitled to use.

Yes, strange Country the USA. When I worked there, it became my habit, after work, to walk to the corner store, buy a pack of beer and walk to my digs to drink the beer. After a couple of weeks of doing this, the storekeeper took. me to one side, and suggested I take a bag for the beer. His explanation, it was illegal to walk along the street, carrying beer in plain sight, perfectly legal to carry a loaded firearm of course. He also advised me that walking "all of the way from my digs" may be considered a bit strange, and, perhaps, I should use the car, it was about 300 yards!
