One thing I have noticed here in North Devon. Very few dog walkers say hello when you walk your dog . In North Wales, every dog walker acknowledge each other.

Lake District.

Pretty much all walkers (with or without mutleys) acknowledge each other.

It's the easiest way to determine locals vs tourists, many of whom are pig ignorant.

Our grown kids from London are literally aghast when we greet total strangers and are totally perplexed if, heaven forbid, we engage in conversation with unknown people.

Do you want chapter and verse? I haven't heard much of the current boycott movement which demonstrates how poorly it has been promoted. Largely they preach to the converted.

I have direct, personal abusive experience of previous methods employed by similar movements. Last time the tactics employed were deeply offensive. Fans like me who continue to attend are viewed with utter contempt.

Do you know what an Asset of Community Value is? Anfield used to be, perhaps still is, covered by one. Ewood Park has been covered by an ACV for 10 years. Guess who single-handedly obtained that?

I've been there, done it and got the T-shirt.

Hey, dont shoot the messenger  im not backing them, just letting you know he was on the TV.

I needed to check on something someone had on the WWW
links led me to their Linkedin account

SO while I was there I looked at mine

I found this description of me

"Highly skilled IT professional/Teacher/Trainer with significant experience gained delivering a variety of roles at differing levels of authority in range of delivery environments. Outgoing communicator with outstanding people skills, can be relied upon to share and pollute others with his contagious positive enthusiasm."

Bloomi' Heck - how desperate/drunk was I when I came up with the load of carp!!!

Doesn't mention "a very high level of cynicism leading to an expectation that people - especially teachers and managers who are allowed anywhere near a computer - will cock things up in amazingly unexpected ways and generally behave in ways that cannot be explained by having a brain
But a totally conflicting high level of optimism that we will sort it all out in time for the level of damage to be low no matter how moronic the users of the computers behave"

I think the original was suggested by a very good redundancy consultant I spent a lot of time with when I was made redundant some time ago. Can't think of anyone else who would come up with words like that - that I would not have totally ignored!!!

Load of rubbish. I doesn't even mention CC.

Outdoors, I should think.

I never thought of that.
That why you are where you are and I am where I am.
I must check where I am

Bonsoir.
I left home at 7.15 this morning and arrived in Bideford at 13.15 so that's good going as it also included a coffee stop at Gloucester Services .
I never went over 70 mph too but I have noticed one thing I don't really like but must accept.
I am feeling it now and am knackered.
A few years ago I could drive all day and think nothing of it. Today , I did 300 miles and am feeling it now.
I hate this growing old business.

Me too 😂

Lots of things that I cannot do, when I was 30!

In terms of driving, I always loved driving, right from passing my test at 17. Some of my jobs required lots of driving, which I was happy with, eg, Newcastle to London, do a days work, drive back again.

Mrs @BoldonLad was a driver, but, from necessity, rather than enjoyment, so, I did most of the driving. We spent many holidays roaming Europe, by car, before Sat-Nav, Mrs @BoldonLad did the navigating, and, was very good at it, except for an unfortunate tendency to fall asleep as crucial directions were required 😂 When Sat-Navs appeared, Mrs Boldonlad took charge of that, although, she never quite trusted it, and, I often had two women (ie the Sat-Nav voice and Mrs@Boldonlad) giving me conflicting instructions. From memory, our most ambitious distance journey was Florence (Italy), to Metz (France) in an MX5, with the only stops for fuel.

After retirement, we acquired a Motorhome and again, roamed Europe, but, at a more leisurely pace, our longest 'sessions" then where typically Newcastle - Dover, and/or Calais - Le-Mans.

The last time I drove. a significant distance was about 3 years ago, when I drove Newcastle - Windsor - Newcastle in one journey, because of a family "incident".

I am sure I could not do that now, at least, not without significant rest breaks, plus, Mrs @BoldonLad's health condition precludes long journeys.

Spot of DIY done, I've sorted out ensuite toilet "singing" at end of fill. Basically the fill pipe vibrating. Anyway, new washer and some insulation fixed it.
Weights session done whilst listening to rugby podcast.
Beers cooling in fridge which after all is the most important thing.

The most satisfying part of DIY, sitting with a beer admiring your handiwork 😂
