Good morning from a wet and windy Dorset. MrsTkk's turn to take herself downstairs as her lurgy has continued, she thought she'd turned the corner a few days ago but alas no😕.
In other news a quick check on my online banking app to ensure that the funds from an account with a different bank had arrived revealed a Credit Card balance transfer of £2k had been made. Now I have a Credit Card, it sits in a spare wallet in a drawer and has never been used. It's an emergency resource just in case. A phone call to Nationwide to alert them followed, the card cancelled and extra security checks put on my account. The lady in Credit card security said that there's been a surge in similar cases over the last few weeks. I will chase again as I want to know how my details were accessed. I will give our daughter a ring later, she worked in Fraud Detection at one of the big banks for a while before moving to risk analysis.

Barnet,
Good morning all.
The green bin service has resumed and the lorry has been down our road.
We are off to Luton Airport shortly, I don't particularly like the airport experience, but it's a necessary evil if you want to fly abroad.
Enjoy your day everyone ☕️

Bonsoir.
I left home at 7.15 this morning and arrived in Bideford at 13.15 so that's good going as it also included a coffee stop at Gloucester Services .
I never went over 70 mph too but I have noticed one thing I don't really like but must accept.
I am feeling it now and am knackered.
A few years ago I could drive all day and think nothing of it. Today , I did 300 miles and am feeling it now.
I hate this growing old business.

I can't do more than a 2½ hour stretch without a break and probably a sleep. If we do a long trip Mrs P will do a good period on the motorway while I sleep. I do all the non-motorway stuff on long journeys.

As a young man I thought nothing of driving Chorley >London >visit customers >drive home.........in a day.

Good morning. Dark. I feel like shite.......and it's going to get worse...........I have to go to Ewood this afternoon. 🤣🤣

We have three granddaughters. #1 and #3 love a sleepover, so do we. Great fun. #2 is here on a sleepover, that's not so great. She knows mum and dad aren't around. At bedtime there was a lot of inconsolable screaming for Daddy. She eventually exhausted herself and fell asleep sitting up at 11.20pm. At 5.10am she woke, screaming for Daddy. Consequently Granddad feels totally nackered.

On the plus side she's a gorgeous little thing and I love that when she's sad she trusts me enough to bury herself on Granddad's chest. 🥰

I can't rely on my wife to help with the driving as she will only drive locally and refuses point blank to drive on the motorway , so anywhere further than 10 miles from home, I must drive.

That would make long journeys very difficult in our house. After 2¼ - 2½ hours I'm not safe without a stop. I reach a point at about 3 hours when I feel my eyelids dropping. I have no choice but to stop before I reach that stage. 20 minutes sleep and I'm ready to go again.

Blowing a gale here but dry at the moment. Rain though forecast. Definitely ont riding outside. I did a turbo session yesterday so might do another today or weights, see I how feel later. Possibility of a proper ride tomorrow fingers crossed.

When I met my wife she could drive but had not done so for several years

She did try driving my car for a short trip once but hated it - not the car just driving

she has not driven since and the optician told her not to a few years ago due to cataracts

so - basically - I do all the driving

on long trips she is very realistic and keep and eye on me and help with things like keeping an eye on the SayNav
which is very helpful - when someone who tells you what the SatNav is saying at a junction is someone who sometime (i.e. at random) gets left and right confused!!
and has been know - when approaching a roundabout - to give directions of "DOWN"

it is genetic - we were going somewhere and her sister was giving directions and at a roundabout she said "UP"!!!!

Anyway - she is accepting on the concept that we just keep going until I say I need to stop at the next services
sometimes we get a drink or whatever - sometime I just walk round the car park a couple of times

But, as my left eye has vision that looks like it has a good layer of Vaseline over my glasses - if I get problems with my right eye then we are rather grounded!!

I've never particularly liked driving, which is ironic as in very good at it and have the class 1 ticket to prove it.

Conversely, I used to love riding motorbikes but was pretty hopeless at it and failed the course, although I managed to get my off road ticket so could ponce about on the DR350's.
