Thanks.
We can't get religious here and this is purely because it interests me.........
What is the "no meat" based on ie health or the Bible etc?
Is it 'all meat' ie my daughter makes a lovely turkey meat blognese but they won't eat beef for ethical reasons (im sure turkeys feel better than cows at slaughter time

)
I googled -
The "no meat" rule in Christianity, particularly regarding Fridays and the season of Lent, is primarily a
tradition of the Church rather than a direct command found in the Bible. While rooted in the remembrance of Jesus Christ's sacrifice on a Friday, the specific, binding, and widespread rule to abstain from meat is a, often misunderstood, practice of religious observance, primarily within the Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, and some Protestant traditions.
When I make a blognese I only use a small amount of paste as the "meat" is the main meal which in my case was minced beef
onions , tomatoes,and red peppers and herbs ect
