I have just put a huge, massive, ginormous humungous and big......chicken casserole on in the slow cooker.
I was thinking WoW I couldn't fit anything else in there.... then I noticed i hadn't put the celery in so had to chop that up.
Did I say, its a whoppy dopper.

Dinner round Davy Boy's house tonight! I'll bring the indigestion tablets.

Finally been out for a walk. Mostly dry apart from a short shower. Just so good to stretch the legs and get some fresh air after yesterday.

Just put new mats in the car, not too sure if I will ever use them  .............the next owner will

A friend of mine has just turned 88, has finally had his licence yanked by DVLA. He seemed a bit annoyed about it, which is odd because he only did about 1000-1200 miles a year. He cheered up somewhat when I went through the numbers and worked out what hed be saving on tax, insurance, fuel, maintenence, etc, each month.

I had a look at that too, but me not driving will have to give up loads
kayaking, fishing, paddle boarding (not even used it yet) metal detecting
trips out to the New Forest, beach, and my freedom, but if I can't see there is no way out.
I'm still optimistic, but I'll know more after the MRI scan and results.
Had a report from the hospital (my medical records) saying they were looking at
thyroid eye disease, so we will see...........or maybe not in my case

That is the problem - it takes away you mobility

Happened to my Dad - he was disabled and when he had to stop driving he was basically stuck in the house unless he got a taxi

He also had a problem (which I inherited) of hating asking for help - so in some cases he gave up going to things where people were quite happy to give him a lift
but he didn;t want to be helped so he just gave it up

I hope when I get there that I will remember this example and try to do the opposite!!!

It takes away your ability to drive a car, nothing more.

In my friends case what he was spending each year for barely a 4 figure mileage would comfortably pay for taxis for many of the journeys he did, and his feet still work and hes planning on using them as best he can. Other than the grief of having vehicles to the dispose of the loss of my ticket wouldn't worry me in the least, and not driving for a month after my TIA worried me not the tiniest bit.

Chin up @numbnuts . It may not happen, and if it does think of it as an opportunity to take stock and rejig your lifestyle to accommodate you new needs, and maybe even some new interests.

Music practiced, house tidied, done a bit more rubbing down on the Volvo front bumper, planted my carrot seeds. Relaxing with a pretty prandial coffee.

The morning ran away from me.So the day begins with changing his bed.I always open the window for fresh air.So looking out I see the gutter over the front window is chocka block full.Right so after washing up breakfast things out i go..It gets sloppy, now the guttering needs washing down. Then the window frame and glass gets splashed.Oh the joy of being a diy god.So frame and Windows get done. Now i am told I am doing dinner,we are having one type he father in law is having a different dinner.I am going for a walk this afternoon.

Father in law was dodgy for years.Mrs P could not get support from either of her sisters. One day perfect weather he hit a parked car.He closed the one and only road through the village. He did not accept any responsibility,he said he was blinded by the sun, bolloxs. The police took his license the next day.We banned our two kids from riding in their car,he would drive right up the arse of the car infront then pull out without looking behind him,it was a nightmare.

Chin up and all that.
A few years ago the optician found a problem and referred me to the hospital. I go for tests every 6 months (in theory) for updates.
I went, maybe 4 weeks ago and the nurse said the tests showed its getting worse. I have to wait for the specialist to write but in a nutshell, if they dont operate I will go blind and its irreversible which is nice to know.
That's on top of the cataracts that need doing.
As they say.....we didnt sign up for this.
