Someone mentioned it a few days ago

but has anyone heard from @Drago recently??

hope he is OK!
Being careful what i say here.
He has openly acknowledged and verbally laughed because twice before he has (his words) "flounced" ie for various reasons taken the huff and walked away from CC.
My view is........like you, I really hope he is ok. However I do not like him/anyone just flouncing.
We are imo a tight fit section. Very few have met but get a 'feel' for each other and, again imo, care about each other. If any of us simply disappears some/many others genuinely worry which is not fair. Its not difficult to post saying "im giving it a break".
Again all is imo

Morning.
Was definitely windy last night with the storm and still is now. Recorded 55mph on anemometer last night, still blowing 25 now.
Not sure on plans, was hoping to ride but I've had my fill of suffering into a headwind recently. House needs a vacuum inevitably(v furry cats) and washing to be done.

Morning all :hello:

Going to the Watchet Sunday market this morning to have a mooch around.
Railway Inn for lunch.
@Dave7 - yes, I get concerned when someone just disappears from the thread - you never know at our age.
I'm still curious about why DaveR suddenly disappeared and deleted his profile and posts. Odd, that.

Still feeling rubbish the some lurgy or other

I blame the grandkids

didn;t really sleep last night - might have dozed to 15-20 minutes a few times before waking up due to dripping nose and the like

Was very windy when I went to bed and I heard it during the night

but seems better now and the Weather Warning seems to have gone

not up to a ride anyway - not sure iam up to much!

I'm not really that active on this cycling forum so I don't really know any of you that well. But I used to be a very active member on a fishkeeping forum some time back. I'm not now because i'm coming out of the hobby in 2027 so I'm winding my activity down so to speak.

I remember once we had a whole thread dedicated to members who'd just suddenly "vanished". We had the same, "has anyone heard from so and so" or "where's so and so, hasn't been on for ages, hope they're ok" type of posts.

Sometimes we never heard from "so and so" again, and of course you all fear the worse then in that situation. Rumours go around the forum as to what has happened but in truth no one knows for sure because such is forum life you very rarely get to meet other forum members in person or become close mates.

A "warning" sort of post would be nice, as in, "oh I'm getting a bit fed up of forum life, I'm laying low for a while now". That would be great to put other minds at rest, but if something, god forbid, should happen suddenly then of course no warning can be given.

In my fishkeeping instance I told the guys I was coming out of the hobby and that I'd only pop in once in a while to say hello and catch up via PM with some of the guys I was closest to. So they knew I was backing off.

In Dragos case, who knows? I hope the guy is ok and that he is just chilling. If he does eventually pop back in maybe you guys can give him a bit of stick for giving you all a scare!

As for "going AWOL" from a forum, it could be a variety of reasons. Flounce is one of course but some might just not be bothered to post or have so much else going on that posting on what is to all and intents an impersonal and anonymous place ranks low in priority.
I'm a pretty sparse poster, I'll usually post in the morning and occasionally later. My later posts tend to be on other threads with cycling specific topics. Some I notice seem to spend entire day posting every detail of life.

I use this forum as a whole for information on and about cycling, I give assistance where I can and receive it at other times. That to me is the main function of a forum. Others seem to use it as a meeting place/conversation area.
Each to their own and neither is the right or wrong way.

Good morning from a sunny but chilly Dorset. A bit blowy overnight but it's calmed down now. Got the older granddaughters Frog bike out of the shed and gave it a clean, pumped up the tyres etc so younger granddaughter can try it out. It's a bit too small but will do for building her confidence as she was nervous when she tried it out last year. Her newly discovered love of sourdough crumpets has me trying to vary breakfast to make sure she gets some variety. Peanut butter and banana is insisted upon, but I make an extra effort to make it look interesting.

Good morning all. Our forecast has changed dramatically (big word at this time of the morning).....it is now showers AM but dry and sunny PM, still cool though.
No plans today but will get a walk in later.
As I've said, my house backs onto Peel Hall Park. Fairly big as I can get my 1 mile walk in without leaving the park.
I am a member of "friends of peel hall park". Its a very pro active group and over the last month have been working hard at things like litter picking, tree planting and getting local schools involved. I have been busy bagging 4,000 sunflower seeds which we give free via social hubs etc.
Today is a special effort...... the council have OKd us changing a disused paddock into a wild flower meadow. It will be scarified and 1000s of seeds sown.
I cant do much but will be there to cheer them on.

No football mention! 😁

We (Mods) did try hard to find out what the reason for DaveR leaving was but got no specific response.

He was a good and interesting poster.

In general we always try to find out the reason for good members leaving unless we know that there was potential for a flounce, which was certainly not the case with DaveR.

A sad miss.
