Why are some members (can't find the relevant posts) adverse to using a banking app on a mobile phone? They are very secure.
Possibly because of the horror stories we read about.
I do mine online and I struggle to get past the security questions.
I mentioned this before but years ago there was/is a guy in my town who got the famous email from the Nigerian prince. He fell for it and lost every penny from his bank account.....iirc it was £35+K.

Barnet,
We've just witnessed history being made.
Two runners beat the 2 hour mark....they said it couldn't be done..... amazing.

I was listening to an article on running and the lower times especially for marathons.
Part of it, like cycling is the trainng and nutrition, but also the technology that goes into the modern running shoes that is having an effect.

That’s 38 of your most excellent 🚴‍♂️ English miles this week, 22 of them today. Time for a lie down

Just come back from a ride

Just to the airport and back this time

Saw a couple of private jets landing

second one must have been something special as several people turned up just before it landed and then left once it had

seemed like the sort of people who are more interested in the plane than who is in it

but I presume it might have been some who kicks a ball for a living??

This is something I encounter a lot in our u3a. @Dave7 is quite right there is a lot of fear out there from the horror stories one hears. This also arises from a very understandable lack of knowledge as to how these systems work. If one tries to explain glazed expressions appear because it is a brave new world.

I know my mobile bank app and Google Wallet are the most secure methods available to me, far more secure than a contactless card, which is totally insecure - anyone could use it. I do all my banking through the app apart from setting up DDs and SOs.

If I’m going to the supermarket I rarely take my card now and just use my Apple Watch. In the unlikely event of it somehow coming off my wrist, anyone finding it can’t get into it without the 4 number unlock code.

Bit drizzly here at the moment - was going to finish the last 8 sq.m of painting the outside of the house. But now will have to wait for the wall to dry out again later in the week. The great north wall has taken since October to paint due to incessant rain without big enough gaps to dry out properly before painting. Crazy!

Have a good day everyone!

Because my mobile phone is not a smart phone. It is a pay as you go for emergencies etc and goes easily into my back pocket when on the bike.
