The polling has been done.........Twice....I forgot my ID![]()
Don`t talk to me about ID. I have spent nearly all morning trying to verify who I am, in order to renew my driving licence. Never mind the fact that they had written to me anyway. No, I don`t have a valid passport. I got there in the end, at least only £14 and not over £20 at the PO.
The biggest problem was verifying who I was. I had already opened an account with the UK Gov website several years back for my pension. It is as if one hand does`nt know what the other is doing. No surprise really, why should I think it does. The number of times I had to sign in and sign out this morning was unbelievable. I am quite PC Savvy. I don`t have a smart phone but luckily we had an Android tablet so was able to take a photo of the driving licence and myself and that was just to verify who I am. " Don`t give it to them Pike" ! ( Dad`s Army). Good luck in 3 years then. I may have to renew in 2 1/2 years as well then as that it when I hit 70.I'll have that problem in 3 years time. I still have the old pink paper driving licence and will need to apply for a new photo one when I'm 70. I don't possess a passport either. The only photo ID I have is my bus pass.
Sack the photographer.
She had one job to do and took this picture of us at the start of the 1991 championship race at Aberdare Park.

I was lucky. I renewed my driving license 10 years ago. I didn't have a problem, just sent my old paper license back with a mugshot. They changed it no problem. I had to renew ita couple of months ago as I had reached 70. Again no problem. They sent a letter telling me i had to renew it. Sent the old one back with the letter and about 3 weeks later my new license arrived.
I have to renew my passports next year.
