Now that is a class and classic song. These days reminds me of Steve Wright show on Radio 2 as it was his theme tune. I liked old Wrighty, he was a bit naff to use an old expression but always a good listen.

Evening folks ive become a blackbirds butler! he arrives at the kitchen door for some cheese and after cleaning and refilling the birdbath he hops in for a dip and spruce up.

Our electricity is going to be off for most of the day tomorrow. They are doing work on the power lines.

That is the problem with living at the endo fthe power lines

We used to have that quite often when I lived in North Wales
The local Kwik Save always kept loads of Price's Candles in stock and everyone went there to get them and stock back up after a power cut
They give out more light than the prettier ones and burn slower and more evenly

Eventually they upgraded something and something else and it all stopped

We also had about 6-9 months with no drinking water - had to keep a large pan of boiled water on the stove

It did feel a bit like living on the edge of civilisation
which is weird as it was the only Welsh city in the North!!!

A bit wiser about fruit flies & the earths magnetism, DNA and ants, plus more about granite than I ever thought I needed 🫣
Naturally I can’t remember anything, but it was a nice pint.
Another session tomorrow at The Real Ale Classroom - a proper place of learning 🤣🍻

A quick good morning to all. I was lying in bed, awake so thought I would get up and hopefully get tired enough to go back at some stage.
Another wet day ahead. I enjoyed yesterday's walk in the showers so might do the same this morning.
I think I am out for pub lunch at 12......a phone call will decide that.

Went to a few talks several years ago pre Covid. Bournemouth Uni stopped involvement when it restarted but did sign up at the last minute this year. A great concept, bite sized discussion from the experts, accompanied by a pint 🍺

I quite enjoy listening to people who really know their stuff too, mainly about human biology, health and nutrition and exercise but a fair amount goes over my head when it gets too advanced.

Looks like another day with a few showers but not as heavy as yesterday.

Good morning from an overcast Dorset. I'm signed up to " Birds of Poole Harbour " on Bluesky and it's interesting and informative getting an almost live update on bird movements such as " 2 Ospreys fishing in Wareham channel " followed shortly by " Osprey flying over Holes Bay carrying large fish " then " Osprey arrived at nest with fish for young ", reminds me a bit of the WW2 films with the ladies pushing pieces representing bombers across a table top map of England 😁.
Mrs Tkk consultation went well and she's now on the waiting list for a knee replacement. Unfortunately don't have a spare £18K to expedite the operation but the Consultant has put her on his NHS list.
A walk to Wimborne this morning for a few things, will detour via the " Burly Baker " for a loaf and a Cinnamon Swirl 😁

Good Morning, Grey, breezy and 80% chance of rain at 08.00, your local bunch of lunatics pensioners have 79 mile ride planned to Gradely Bonksers. It's quite a feat to turn a ride into a 79 miler from Chorley to the Southport area - the most direct route is 50 miles there and back. The forecast has been spot on so far today, which means it probably will pee down at 08.00 which is when we will make a decision. I have heavy duty wet weather gear ready.

This week? Monday was a great childminding day - an absolute delight. Tuesday's child definitely had one on her! Geez. The poor little mite was tired, a bit poorly and just didn't know what to do with herself. That's very unusual for #3SP. Ah well, so it goes. Today, if I don't ride there are household chores and this evening we have a u3a social event. I'm running the bar. Anyway I need to crack on as I have a list of small things to get done before I go riding.

@Dave7 I keep meaning to ask. Does your Aldi still stock the burgers you recommended? I've only found them once at mine. Where they in the "Specially Selected" range or the "Oakhurst?" I thought they were very good.
