Good morning from a slightly over cast Dorset. At this time of year we're plagued with small moths that seem to appear from nowhere. They're attracted to the light from my ereader when I am reading in bed. I came up with a heath-robinson solution to the problem. I got a pack of those " pheromone traps " which are basically cardboard backed sticky paper strips that fold into a triangle. We have some rechargeable tea lights that were lying unused in a box so I charged them up. I then made up a couple of the moth traps and lay them on their sides over the tea lights. Result! Loads of the little blighters were attracted to the lights and caught overnight. Hopefully they will also attract the occasional gnat with the high pitch whine that sometimes appear.
Good to see the legend that is " The Drago " is back in town 😎
Have a peaceful day folks ☕️☀️🦔

Good morning all.
Today is the meteological start of summer.

Our sleep was interrupted at around 2am as there was a stand off in the road outside by two different families of foxes. The noise was quite incredible, shrieking, barking and it went on for about half an hour.
The weather is much cooler today with some fluffy clouds in the sky. Rain is forecast ftom around 4 this afternoon.
I have some more plants you put in the ground , Salvias and several fiferent lavenders, so plenty to keep me busy.
Enjoy your day everyone :cuppa:

Morning.
Back to normal then, grey, damp and drizzly. Good excuse for a lazy indoor day.

Bright but cooler this morning with rain hopefully forecast for later.

Have potted some small gingers up and had a bit of a tidy up of pots etc, had muesli/bran flake/granola mix breakfast and will pop up to Waitrose for some shopping.

If we don't here anything this morning will have to do some chasing up as we still haven't got our coffee that was supposed to be delivered by DPD on Friday.

One thing, don't know if there's been a separate thread on this but all the water related deaths during the heatwave are awful.
15 now so far. I'm stunned though that some were a week ago yet still happening, don't the people learn? If not the poor kids who it's seems to be the majority at least the parents should be aware of what's happened and if not stopping the kids from open water swimming then educating them of the dangers of cold water shock etc.

Sorry, not the cheeriest topic for a Monday morning but it's something that's been nagging at me.

Yes - always happens because people do not learn

The local paper has an article about the Lifeboats having to rescue people from Hilbre Island on The Wirral

As I grew up round there I know the area well
I also sailed there a lot for quite few years and knew the tides

and I walked out to those islands often
the signs about the tides are everywhere and locals all can see how the tides work

and still whenever the weather is good people get stuck

I see it is all the fault of the school and teachers again
sigh

I have a question for you.
There is a person that by coincidence has a similar name to you and he has/had a wonderful FREE site offering advice to people like me. Do you think he will come back.......I have some problems and need confidential advice.
