Morning, very soggy here, they say we will have a week of rain and windy tooI give the grandparents 10/10 for this. Perhaps they're younger than me? The most intense we usually have is Monday #1 and #2, then #1 sleepover, and #3 arrives Tuesday morning. This leaves me wiped out. We once had #2 for three nights, she was too young for this and desperately distressed. She basically screamed for the whole stay.
I think I could do a week on holiday with #1, she's 5½. A lot easier and has so many interests she's easily pleased.

I have taken on the task of phoning Eurostar to book our tickets for the Escape committee on tour this September.
Being an retired railwayman there is a number I can call and get concessionary fares, it is reciprocal for Eurostar staff on National rail.
The office doesn't open until 10am.
Then I have decided that the hair looks a bit wild, so i will go and get a haircut .
The rain is persisting down now. Millie was walked just in time to miss it.![]()

Just had a cold caller from a roof coating company knock the door. Fortunately I saw him coming in the drive so didn't answer. They are a total pest. I've just sent away for a No Cold Caller sign for the door. Hopefully it might help deter folk like that.
15 years ago we had a new roof fitted.
We found out a couple of years ago that the main tiles were v.good quality (Lagans) but the ridge tiles were some cheap make.
The ridges started to delaminate so we decided to have them replaced with quality ridge tiles and a dry ridge system instead of the old-fashioned mortared stuff.
They are cracking on really well up there but by christ it is a racket!
Enjoy your day, everyone.
I have just had 2 roof hips changed from standard mortar type to dry ridge. Hopefully that eliminates any more problems.
Ive got a no cold caller sign on my door. Sadly they just weem to ignore it.
