Just received the news that a fellow parish councillor has passed away today. He went for a nap and drifted away, which probably isnt the worst way to go.

A bit stunned. Of all the parish councillors he was the most welcoming to me and we got on well, probably because we shared the same warped sense of humour. I last spoke to him Saturday, and he complained of feeling a little under the weather but had put it down to the heat.

R.I.P.

For the individual it is the way to go, no lingering, but, more upsetting for those who knew them.

Aye, and just before bed wasnt the best time to receive such news. It just kept going round and round in my mind.

Morning all :hello:

Pup walking and pub lunch on the cards today.
Will also do some more on the Raleigh RM4.
Got the engine back together and in the frame yesterday.
Need to set the ignition timing and see if there's a spark next.

I'm up

have been since 8 ish

but still not properly awake

due to a) the long drive home yesterday
b) the couple next door on our last night away have an argument
due to him being American (so was she but she was the nice kind
and he was the kind with an opinion about everything
insists on injecting it into every conversation he can hear even if it is half way through a phrase the other person was saying and in a loud voice
was getting very fed up with people just carrying on talking in spite of his "words of wisdom"
and suggesting facts that might not comply with his viewpoint
plus - he got a lot worse with drink especially on the last night

to be fair he was kinda OK
very anti Trump - but based more on his opinion than facts - which are openly available
and he does listen when you talk over his about "other facts"

anyway - their room was separated from ours by an escape hatch (as it was a boat) so only a single sheet of plywood!!!
and she had to go and get him late on as the whole damn boat could hear his views!!!
I had been talking with him but gave up at 10 p.m. - apparently the other bloke on the cruise was still there for a while!!!

so - basically I was knackered!!

Bang on the wall and tell him to shut else you'll invade his cabin and steal his oil!

Many years ago on a camping holiday there was a couple next to us doing what couples do.....but she was very loud.
Next day I got the chance to tell him how sound travels in the open.
He told me it was his secretary and his wife thought he was away on business.
Nice guy but I just dont understand how you do that to your partner .

Nice and cool here egis morning and was up at six for a coffee.
Muesli etc breakfast then some minor DIY ,another coffee and a nip to the bakers for some milk rolls.

Might do a bit of stuff in the garden later and may fit the Zwift click and cog when it arrives.

Tomorrow were having a day in Naaridge trawling the chazzers and then spending the afternoon in The Fat Cat pub hopefully downing some nice beer.
