Getting old but not past it

Salut tout le monde.
I got back last night after having a wonderful week of eating and drinking at my brother's. I have put on 4 pounds but have no regrets as I can lose it again now.
It was very hot there, 37 to 41 degrees every day.
One morning, my brother took me to a village I had forgotten about where my grand dad and mother were born. It was also the birth place of Louis Blériot who was the first to fly over the channel in 1909. Photos included of his plane and him sitting on bench. His plane was powered by a 3 cylinder engine of 25 horse power. Brave man indeed.
That village is only 20miles from where my brother lives and his called Chaumont sur Tharonne if you ever visit the Loire valley. If I ever win a substantial sum on the Postcode lottery, I will buy a second home there.

I can fully understand why buses run late, but there is no reason other than the drivers inability to follow his/her/their timetable, to run early.

Edited to be polictally correct🤔

We're fortunate to live on a route with a couple of services, and buses every 15 minutes to Poole / Wimborne, every 30 minutes to Bournemouth ( though why anyone would want to go to Bournemouth is beyond me, all the best beaches being in Poole ). On occasion we get a driver who seems to be auditioning for Silverstone. The annoying aspect is that they have to park up and wait at the " catch up " stops. I would be miffed if I missed a connection due to a bus being several minutes ahead of schedule. 🏎️

After some coffee and breakfast managed to get out for ride before it got too hot and also to miss the commuter/school run.

Got 32k in and then popped in to the 'posh' bakery/shop for a couple of croissants and check if they had the really nice Spanish pickle (gherkin) crisps in which they did so will get some tomorrow.

2nd coffee and croissant demolished and then a quick swab and in to the 'village' for some thrifting and shopping in Aldi and Waitrose and then back home for a refreshing lime cordial.

Other half bagged a posh made in Germany linen jacket for a tenner that she found out retailed for about £300 Euros so she was well pleased.

Dogs feeling the heat. AC now on.

I was pleased to see the Shopfitters up the road in a once empty unit. Another Turkish hairdressers? Nail bar? Dog groomers? No, a shop that is a storefront for a local Heating / Air con company. I'm going to ride out the summer and look to getting a couple of Mini Split units in the autumn. ( we're currently shopping for a new electric coal / log effect fire to go in the gap where the gas fire was )
