Morning. So much cooler up here now thankfully. I might even need a lightweight jacket for my walk.

Quite enjoying the Commonwealth Games, although I don’t think the coverage on TNT is as good as the BBC. At least the European Championships are on BBC starting on 10th August. Can’t wait.

Totally agree about the TNT coverage of athletics, tbh I don’t think it’s as good as the old Eurosport coverage which is surprising as I think they use a lot of the same people. On the other hand it’s so much better than the channel 5 highlights package . Which simply consists of a whistle stop list of who has won what with very little actual action . 🙁

Good morning. Rain and cool. We have a ride planned. We don't have rain planned. It has brightened up in the last 30 minutes so I'v etold my buddy I'm packing a rain jacket and expect to get a wet arse. I need a ride.. Beyond that not much. Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today. Last night I put off the strimming and grass cutting, that won't be happening today. Bugger.

Not much else going on. I have selected a colour for the shed. I've proposed this to Mrs P. I await comments. Somerset Blue is a good colour for a garden shed/summer house....................well I think it is.

Lot cooler today thankfully and have had breakfast and coffee and done the washing up.

Will go in to the 'village' in about an hour and have a dentist appointment at 10:15 for a small filling.

What happens the rest of the day will depend on how hot it is.

Oh and also ordered some coffee beans and V60 filters from Butterworths in Bury St Edmunds as we are getting a bit low, should get them tomorrow.

I was going to suggest checking the breather hole, 1st thing to check really. Then I thought "nah, Dirk is bound to have checked that".
My tip for the day is 'when riding a classic bike always carry one of those hole clearing gizmos'......you can get them quite cheap on Amazon.

We are all lucky to have you around for your sage wisdom and advice - not sure what we would do without you!!

Well it has rained overnight - quite a bit from the look of it

and forecast says there is a good chance of more before lunch

I think The Plan is to have an early lunch and take the kids for a walk to the cafe boat on their way home

Normally walks are done without Gran
and Gran has never seen the cafe boat

so it will be something different for them

last time I took the kids there the eldest (female 13 - and all that) commented
"Pops - how come they know your name and seem to know you???

She is getting far too clever and notices things!!!!

her gran reckons I go to the boat whenever I can - thing is that it is well over a month since I managed it
seen them on their way home a few times but ride have always been to early or late
or the weather has been too windy in the wrong direction - or too hot
