Good morning. Grey, dry, breezy that will do but there's a 90% chance of rain till 12.00. We have 40 people arriving 1.00pm onwards to celebrate Mrs P's 70th.

If you could all suck hard at once, I'll blow, we might manage to keep the rain away from a tiny corner of Lancashire.

M&S delivered flowers for Mrs P yesterday. They're at a neighbour's house for me to collect. Now, I know a thing or two about flowers and plants. I chose M&S for their reliability and the standards demanded from suppliers. I'm disappointed. The bouquet size doesn't match the image and many of the flowers are very slightly marked. A review will follow to M&S!!!! Grrrrr.......

Lots of tiny chores to do......👋👋

Hope all goes well for Mrs SB.....I've done my bit for you and its raining here.
Re the flowers......if you take a photo and if possible go in i think you will get a refund (if you could be mithered).

Food arrived from Sainsbury's. I ordered a wide range from their party buffet selection.......not without some trepidation!!!

Everything arrived on time, as ordered, delivered by a very friendly lady. The products are exactly as described and illustrated on the website. 10/10 to Sainsbury's. 👍

M&S remain at nil point.........👎

Morning.
Bright and sunny after rain in the night.
Plan is a bit of bike fettling to get position dialed in, cut the grass, tip run and maybe a gentle spin around the local lanes.
Need to make the most of any dry days as new bike won't be seeing the rain ^_^

We're also out for a meal tonight with my sister and her partner who are staying in the area for a few days. My (adult) kids are tagging along as I'm paying...

A 5.5 mile drizzly walk done before it turns even heavier soon.

Not sure what I fancy for breakfast this morning. I might just do another omelette.

I don't usually eat before 12:00 but have been having breakfast for a few days while I take Naproxen. Sliced 1/2 banana 3 soft pitted dates and a generous handful of dried raisins and cranberries, all in a small bowl with Kefir poured over. It tasted delicious, the slight tartness of the kefir balancing the natural sweetness of the fruit.

Friends arriving for their yearly 2 week visit.
Making a chilli for later as not certain when they'll arrive.

So you're vegetarian rather than vegan I take it? I've been back on dairy for a month or so but not convinced I really like it and depending on what studies you read, it can be a migraine trigger, especially fermented stuff. Co-incidentally I did eat a full tub of Greek yoghurt yesterday over 2 meals and had a headache in the evening. I think I might revert to oat milk again. Of all the plant milks, it's the one I enjoy the most.

Bit of rain this morning but sunny out as is the washing.

Bit of a lie in as kept awake by a party going on in the big house at the back but slept ok once it quieted down.

Breakfast and two coffees downed and washing up done, may do some gardening and more stuff on the Trek. Also need to fix the hand water sprayer as the hose has a hole in it.

Yes, veggie Mo, don't usually do dairy but strong cheddar ( and of course the most magnificent of cheeses, " proper " halloumi ). I drink 100ml of Kefir when I remember, but it can be weeks between bottles. It's reportedly very good for the gut biome ( Sliced Bread podcast, professor of nutrition at Oxford/ Cambridge).
Sometimes I'm incidentally vegan for several weeks without really realising it if you see what I mean, and as I have mentioned before, spent six months on a self imposed gluten free, soya free vegan diet while under medical investigation. When Mrs Tkk had her first knee replacement we travelled to a quiet resort in Cyprus. She had the indoor pool to herself most days, and I had Greek salad followed by fruit salad for both lunch and dinner for 10 days ( did I ever mention that I like Greek salad? ) 😁
