Morning all . Having a slightly boring day today . It’s my daughter’s fault 😀. She suddenly realised her mot and service was due, so I said I would sort it ( mug 😀) . The problem is the garage we use is in Warwick ( a hangover from when we both worked there ) . Normally this isn’t a problem as I book work for Thursday and Fridays when Mrs exlaser isn’t working so she can pick me up . But as this was a rush job it had to be done today so I am stuck in Warwick until it’s done. Also the museum I was going to while away a couple of hours now closes on a Monday .
On the plus side I have just finished off a fried breakfast at a cafe I haven’t used in decades . It hadn’t changed lol. Two bacon , two sausages, egg, beans, tomato and ………fried bread for £4.90.i havnt had fried bread in years . It was very nice but I could feel my arteries harden with every mouth full of the fried bread. 😂.
Oh see you all later, more time to waste and more coffee to drink .

Extra things fro the birthday "do" lat night

turns out that SWMBO's son has a new car

It is on a lease thing as he works for the NHS
but it is a BMW SUV type thing

it has lots of gadgets

including an overtake facility
he can have his hands off the wheel and if he is catching a car in his current lane - e.g. the middle lane
then the car will check it is clear to overtake and flash a signal
If it then sees him check the rear view mirror then it will move into the outer lane and overtake and move back to the original lane when it is clear
all without him doing anything except glancing in the mirror

I did ask if it uses the indicator - it is a BMW after all
he said he has not checked that!

just sent him this - because I had to

@Mo1959 I've just read a new word (for me).....its Pyjamaphile. The definition is 'someone who gets home and cant wait to put their pyjamas on' ........thought you might like to know

The rain is to be on for the rest of the day now………I am tempted!

Well that me back from my ride up the third highest mountain on mainland Spain to see the highest mountain on mainland Spain. The first half of the road wasn't to bad, the second half however got progressively worse until you couldn't really call it a road, around 25km there and back with an average gradient of 8%.

And yes the white stuff is snow, even in September with this heat.

sorted out part of the shed before to clear a space for some new shelves

just started to take the new ones out of the box and put them together

and found one shelf is dented
bad enough to crease the metal and distort the mounting tabs so it won't work

now I could bend it back which might work
but if I do and it doesn;t work properly then it would be difficult to return it as faulty

so I rang them
they answered in only a minute or so - which is nice to see
and said that I need to find the order confirmation - as it has the order details including their reference number
and attach some photos

so I am hoping they reply quickly as at the moment the bits are all spread out all over the lounge as it has the space to do it all

hopefully they will send a new shelf so I can put the rest together and get it al out of the way!!!

I fear they will want to uplift the old one and replace the whole thing.
