It’s not just commentary it’s also classical singers. I love tenors, sporanos not so much.

As I said earlier about refs: my main requirement is competency, gender isn’t an issue.
On the other end of the spectrum for me are women commentators as they get a hard no. I just can’t get my head around the high pitched delivery, especially when things get exciting.
Pundits fall in between, as I rarely listen to pre/post match chat. I only rate a handful such as Sam Warburton and John Barclay, because they are the most insightful, while remaining neutral. Consequently, I don’t rate female pundits. However, there are several good touchline links.

I have to agree on the screeching.
Rugby has a tradition of poetic voices in the commentary box such as Bill McClaren and Eddie Buttler. Even Starmer Smith.
I am happy with refs and pundits but not the main commentator.

Interestingly, Moore is the only male commentator I have heard on women’s rugby.
OK, he’s passed his sell by date now, but he was good on scrums(as he should be) explaining the nefarious goings on in the front row. I didn’t find him too bias either.

The Saints made so many errors. I don’t think that I have seen more knock ons/dropped balls on a dry pitch. The crowd was extremely hostile towards them and in particular, Pollock.

Tomos Williams was MotM for Gloucester and rightly so. 3 50-22s in the first 20 minutes.
His bonus point winning pass has to be seen to be believed.
From the middle of the goal posts, off his wrong hand, he hit Charlie Atkinson, standing on the touchline, with pinpoint accuracy.
Absolutely incredible.

Meanwhile, Edinburgh beat Toulon in what best could be described as a monsoon.

Colour commentary was helpful when you watched Ireland v Wales in the 5 nations on a black and white tv. Same with snooker now I think of it!
